We have been a good customer, purchasing a dozen bagels every other week. Yesterday, we went to buy our usual dozen Asiago bagels. They were out of them, but the employee told us they would have more in 10 minutes. We paid for the dozen and told her we would return after running some other errands. When we returned, our order was already bagged and ready to go so, we didn't see what the bagels looked like. After returning home, I opened the bag to find that all dozen had burned cheese on the top of each bagel. I called the store, but they were closed. I returned there this morning and showed the employee the bagels. He said he would need to speak to the owner in the back. I heard commotion. The employee returned and began bagging another dozen from the tray. The employee was called to the back and returned with a bag of dozen bagels. I asked the employee why he couldn't use the bagels in front of the store. He couldn't answer. I told him I wasn't comfortable taking the bagels and wanted a refund. After another few minutes of further commotion, I was given a refund of $15. However, I had paid $19.99 for the dozen. I told the owner I wanted a full refund. The owner reluctantly took a $20 bill out of the register. We won't be returning there. It's just much too much of a hassle for a dozen bagels.

We arrived in Detroit for a wedding yesterday and had today to look around. We wanted to find a bagel place for breakfast and came across Big Apple Bagels. They had a wide variety of flavours and when I asked if they have a cappuccino, the friendly lady behind the till said she can make me one. We each had the salmon and cream cheese bagel on pumpernickel. It comes with tomato, onion and capers - the capers weren’t on the menu list but when I asked if they have one with, she said it comes with them. This bagel was honestly so good. For my husband it even had the perfect amount of cream cheese, as I noticed he didn’t take any off. I personally can always have more cream cheese (I usually take his excess), but nonetheless, it was very delicious and I wish I could have a place like this where we live, I would be there at least once a month. I mean it could be once a week, but have the watch the waistline. The flavour in the cappuccino was also very nice. We had a great breakfast here!!!

This place reminds me of a grandmother's home. It feels welcoming and the staff are friendly. I had the creme caramel which was fantastic. However, the white mocha was a miss for us. I pretty much had all the bagels here and never had any issues with them. I always buy a bunch and then freeze them for months. They come out great every time! The Plain and Honey Cream Cheese are my go-to and regulars that I get. My mom is obsessed with the Lox & Cream Cheese sandwich. This place has not failed me with every visit. I have been coming here for more than 10 years. Thanks for staying to the roots!

I’ve been coming here since 2012. Simply the best. I ordered the northern on a Swiss melt and it’s always so fresh. I’ve also ordered the Carmel frozen coffee as well and it’s my all time favorite!
We love coming here for bagels but tried the lattes today and goodness, they were great! Hubby got the cinnamon toast latte and I got the turtle latte. They have options for kids too! I got the bagel ranchero sandwhich- yum. Everyone is so kind in here! Thanks for an affordable, warm breakfast on this snowy day. ☺️❄️
