Pretentious dump - don't bother.We walked in the door In the hostess gave us a dirty look and insisted that it would be 45 minutes before we could get a table. While we were sitting in the parking lot finding the next choice for dinner, about 10 cars left. Apparently we didn't fit their profile well enough to dine at such a fine establishment. Little do they know I generally tip 25%, order a full meal, and I run my mouth when I find great food. So I'm running my mouth about what a pretentious dump this place is, instead. The look on the hostess's face said it all. Sorry if you don't like my jeans and sweatshirt. Do the fine folk of Shelby and Washington not wear jeans and hoodies? You know, not all fine folk like to dress alike.So if you're looking for something good to eat and don't have huge rocks on your hand or $500 sport coats, go find something elsewhere. Your money won't be good enough for these fine folk anyway.

It was okay but wouldn't return for dinner, service is super slow and not professional for the price point. Food was not special, clam chowder with no clams, dessert is not homemade. Beautiful restaurant decor, maybe happy hour is the way to go
Our waitress was great. No idea if it was the kitchen or the staff but our meal took forever, we ordered drinks and apps within 5 minutes of getting there and then waited almost 40 to receive them. Very slow service and the restaurant was almost empty.

I tried this restaurant for the first time tonight. The parking lot is always packed and we had an hour wait for a table so I had high expectations. The decor is nice. Calamari appetizer was really good and so was the bread. The lobster bisque is mediocre I’ve had better at every single other restaurant I’ve had it at. The lobster in the soup was good though. For my main course I had the filet mignon the sides were okay but the filet itself was perfectly cooked and was one of the best filets I have ever had. It made the entire meal. Dessert was cake from Christine’s Bakery I love that bakery it was excellent which is to be expected. Pretty good food.

First time there. Wish would not have waited so long to try it. We will definitely be back. Food and service was fantastic! All of the seafood dishes we tried were amazing as was the filet. Our server, Kayla, was on point and put up with our humor and indecisiveness all evening. She was great! Get the key lime pie, you won’t be disappointed!!

My wife and I went last night for our first time. Kyle was our server and did an excellent job, very informative and attentive. Our drinks, food and service was excellent. Some of the best scallops we have ever had. Highly recommend this place for a nice date night for excellent food and
This is the 2nd time I have been to The Detroit Fish House and it will also be the 2nd time I had the Ahi Tuna. This dish is absolutely fabulous and the portions are quite generous. We had a couple glasses of wine with dinner and retreated to the leather couches to finish our drinks after dinner where we were able to talk in an intimate setting. Highly recommended for date night

This is FINE dining! Filet and South African lobster. Lobster bisque. Calamari. One of the most amazing experiences I've had. Presentation and flavor was superb. April and Matthew made us feel so welcome! Make reservations. Thank you Detroit Fish House for an awesome dinner!!!
i just want to start off by saying that is the first time i’ve ever ordered from this place and the gentleman i spoke to on the phonemade the clam chowder sound like the portion would be a good sized serving. to my surprise when i got home and opened the bag, the serving was extremely small and the cup wasn’t even full! i ordered the soup for my parents and it was extremely embarrassing to offer to them as it wasn’t even a portion big enough for a child. it’s crazy how this little tiny thing is 8 dollars and isn’t even full. super disappointing!

This restaurant is disgusting. Went with a coworker who happens to be young and Asian. After ordering our waitress came over wanting to know what our relationship was. Proceeding to question us about our job positions.I was totally disgusted that an establishment could be so racist.
I've been there twice for special occasions and I just can't justify the price for the non existent flavor of the steak and my mom's fish and chips. The ambiance is always nice.
