Great place for our family rehearsal dinner.
(EDIT: I’ve contacted Filipa’s about this again after they responded to my comment and have not heard back.)
Icame here with a large party for an event. My partner and I are vegetarian and accustomed to adapting the menu to fit our needs.
Unfortunately we left hungry. The caprese was 3 slices of tomato with 1/4 a burrata ball and a couple of shreds of lettuce. We were shocked it was served.
There was no vegetarian soup option. We ate a Caesar salad with a side of mashed potatoes and green beans. (There was one vegetarian entree that we did not want.)
The server didn’t offer any basic pasta options to accommodate and I messaged the manager but didn’t heard back.
We paid over $70 to eat broth, lettuce, and dessert. We would not return.
Waitresses were super kind, however, I was assured my meal was gluten-free as we were at an event here, and within a few hours, I felt so sick, and turns out the meal was in fact not gluten-free. I wouldn’t recommend anyone with specific food allergies to take the risk.
Our carry-out order ended up costing significantly more than the prices listed on the restaurant’s own website. When we brought this to the manager’s attention, she initially denied any discrepancy, until we showed her the proof ourselves. Rather than taking responsibility or offering any kind of compensation, she simply remarked, ‘Someone’s getting fired,’ and still charged us the higher in-store price. If you can’t keep your website menu updated, that’s not the customer’s fault.
I ordered off of their lunch menu for my husband and I after he got done with an important surgery. I figured the lunch menu had cheaper prices than the dinner menu (as most places with lunch menus do) and so when I saw lamb chops on the lunch menu for $17 I thought, wow that’s a pretty good deal! So my husband wanted the lamb chops and I ordered them for him. We both love their lobster bisque and it was a $4 upcharge each, which we were definitely fine with that. So I thought the lamb chop lunch portion with the soup upgrade would be $21 total. When I showed up to pick up the food, I see that the lamb chops on the bill were $40! So I asked if they accidentally charged me the dinner prices, they said no and showed me the menu. The menu they showed me said the lamb chops were $36 and then with the $4 lobster bisque upcharge, that brought it to $40. I was like “wow, your website said the lunch portion is $17” (the entire time I was cool, calm and collected). The two women behind the to-go counter (one I believe was a waitress and the other I think may have possibly been a manager), were acting like I was looking at the wrong website and the one who I think was the manager said they would never have lamb chops that cheap and that if I see a restaurant with lamb chops that cheap then that’s not a good sign and the only time I could possibly get them that cheap was if I went to the store and bought them myself. So I once again, insisted that their website said the lunch portion was listed at $17 and they kept acting like I wasn’t looking at the right website. So the lady who I think was the manager was sitting at a computer but tried asking me to show her the website I was looking at (I left my phone in my car, so I wasn’t able to show her) so she pulled up the Filippa’s website on her computer and asked “did the website you looked at have these pictures on the main page” and I said “yes, I was looking at the right website, click on ‘menu’ then click on ‘lunch’ and scroll down to the bottom and you’ll see the lamb chops are listed at $17.” Sure enough, she saw what I saw (see picture attached for proof). She said “oh someone is getting fired! This isn’t correct and needs to be fixed right away!” The waitress was standing right next to her and was the one who was trying to ring me up, she had her back to me but I could see her look at the manager and I don’t know if she whispered or mouthed something but it looked like she may have said “should I honor the price?” or perhaps something along those lines and the manager shook her head no and then the waitress immediately turns around and says “so do you still want the lamb chops?” And I said “well yeah… I guess”. At this point, my husband just got done with surgery and he really needed to eat something, I wasn’t about to sit and wait for something else to be prepared. So they rang up the lunch portion of lamb chops at the full price and didn’t offer any discount or anything to try and make this misinformation/situation right. I’m sorry, but I have managed restaurants before and if there was ever any issues like this that was mis-advertised, I ALWAYS tried to make things right somehow, that’s just proper customer service and keeps regulars like me coming back. But instead they at first doubted me, made me feel gaslit, acted like I was crazy for thinking the lunch portion of lamb chops was $17 and then verified the price in front of my face with absolutely no intention of having excellent customer service. As much as I love the food at Filippa’s, I don’t think I’ll be back for a while because that whole situation just rubbed me the wrong way. I can’t believe how poorly this situation was handled. I wasn’t expecting the meal to be free but they could have offered something to make me feel better about their pricing/advertising mistake! Filippa’s customer service gets a 0/10 rating from me.
Wonderful staff and service, very nice ambiance, and the food was delicious!
We celebrated our anniversary with a dinner and cocktail, and our server was so attentive.
Thank you Fillipas we had a beautiful evening.
EXTREMELY NOISY, BUT WORTH IT. NOWHERE HAVE I HAD BETTER LASAGNA OR CHICKEN MARSALA. THE CHICKEN COULD BE CUT WITH A FORK, SUPER TENDER.
My Dad is currently in the hospital battling sepsis. We’ve had a difficult time getting him to eat. He asked for lamb chops, so my husband searched until he found Filippa’s. After hearing our story, they made his lamb chops special for him before they were technically even open. Outstanding customer service, and delicious food! We cannot thank them enough ☺️
Food and service was excellent. All were nice. Had a reservation and because a table ran behind, was seated in a side room with only my group with party planners setting up which was annoying.

Nice please but food was bad. I order risotto with lobster and it was really bad. I ask waitress to bring me lemon and some spices so I can add some flavor. She highly insist to bring me something else. She recommend me a lemon chicken. This one was super salty. We pay 150$ for this dinner but experience was really bad.

Restaurantji Recommends
Typically in the past this place has been awesome, but the dinner we had was not worth the price. Seems like they are doing what every other restaurant is doing. Serving Lower quality food and raising the prices. Not worth the price.
I had my engagement party this past Friday and we had the best time ever. The food, service, and atmosphere were great. DJ Drew is always great every time we come to Filippa's. Rylie and Mark were amazing and helped us all night. Would highly recommend Filippa's to others and would definitely have another party here as well.
