This place is a joke. I’ve already wasted enough time with their disaster to our wedding cake.

I’m not going to waste time on the details we ordered a cake, sat with the baker showed pictures and gave descriptions of what we wanted and what we did not want. Weeks before the wedding touch base reviewed everything the baker made suggestions on for items we said we do not want. On our wedding day we were surprised to see they did what we asked them not to. Now reading all the reviews here I see it’s a common “coincidence” and the customers is wrong.

My husband and I visited for the grand opening. We met the owner and his family. What a sweet story behind the new owner, his family and the Militelo family. I purchased cannolis which are amazing and pretzel bread that was delicious. The cake was moist and out of this world. I can’t wait to go back to try another item and see the window display which was meticulously decorated for the holiday.

Bitch Fuck

This place is by far the best bakery they have the best cannolis hands-down across the United States of America, and the owner is an amazing human being always kind always personable always willing to give a free sample of anything that you choose. My wife and I drive from Hamtramck for his cannolis. i’ve never experienced bad service. I believe everything is fairly priced. I believe that the service is outstanding and the quality. 0f baked goods is always amazing. I’m giving him five stars only because I can’t give him a 10 and anybody who has anything negative to say about this gentleman and his establishment should go buy their baked goods at Kroger

I think they may have changed owners/bakers. Cannoli cream was grainy, shells too hard to eat, butter cookies were ok, sesame cookies were awful and so were the little biscotti cookies. No flavor at all hard , old smelled like musty. This is the third time this has been the case (been going there for years and never had this issue) i would say dont go here anymore. They arent what they used to be at all. Just my opinion.

Great bakery, just never enough donuts. Even if you go 9am . I understand they don't want leftovers, but they could def bake more, it seems.

The driver in a silver town and country that had Militello’s bakery on the back of it did a U-turn in the middle of 23 mile Road and cut me off and almost caused an accident. I have a photo of the license plate in back of the van, if you’d like to know who it was. Very unsafe driving.

This place is literally unbelievable. My wife and I paid nearly $800 for a smaller wedding cake. Dolly took us to the corner table on the left side of the building, set us down, got all of our ideas for the cake, and then said we would also get a free mini cake, on our one year anniversary. As soon as we called them for our free mini cake, one year later, they lied to us and said that we needed to pay money for it and that was not part of their practice. This was a lie straight out of the pits of H E L L . I put it on my mother's life, and my own baby child's life, that Dolly looked Us both in the eyes and told us this. It's one thing if money is tight, but it's another thing to lie to someone and not keep your word. I understand that the bakery is nothing like it used to be when I lived in Shelby township when I was just a small child. Dolly used to take pride in her work and customer service and she used to be very good at her job. No, it's just money money, what can we do for more money. I feel scammed, I feel cheated because I chose this bakery, and then the lady on the phone has the nerves to say be quiet young man you will not speak over me. I will admit, I had some choice words for her as well. But when someone lies to you and then speaks to you like that, what do they expect? Not to mention, I think Dolly and the guys cooking the cakes, have kind of lost their touch. The cake we tried, compared to the cake they gave us at our wedding, was very very different. The cake at our wedding tasted kind of bad in my opinion, and a lot of our guests said I thought the cake would taste much better based on how it looked. because I'm a reasonable guy, the cake looked absolutely beautiful and amazing, but the taste was so dry and so nasty that I only took one bite. I can honestly say that we spent $800 on a cake, that we threw two large boxes out the very next day because we couldn't even give it away for free. So, I just figured I would let everyone know, if you're going to this bakery for a wedding cake, don't believe a word they say about something being free. Nothing in life is free, not even when you spend $800 on a disastrous tasting cake. But this is all okay, Dolly's the one who will have to answer to God one day for lying to our faces, not my wife or myself. This probably was a last attempt for them to get extra money out of us, before they have to shut this bakery down soon because it's lost its quality. I can't express to you how upset and hurt my wife was, I know it's just a mini cake, but it was something special for our one year anniversary, that they claim all of a sudden, that they no longer practice. Honestly, I wish I could handle this my way, but ....... You know

Update:
Was contacted with an apology and a gift certificte to use at my convenience. The explanation that a new baker still learning....

This used to be our go to bakery for cakes. I ordered a carrot cake for my husbands birthday and was severely disappointed not only was there more frosting than cake, it tasted awful. No flavor in the cake itself and the frosting was buttercream not cream cheese as you would expect. I am sad to say I dont believe we will be back. Its a shame they used to be so good.

We ordered chocolate bumpy cake, carrot cake, Oreo, peanut butter cup, chocolate and vanilla cupcakes for my son’s grad party. They were not only beautiful but they were absolutely delicious. We have ordered here several times and everything is always consistently delicious. Thank you so much Militello’s! ?
