I have not had Pasties in years. I used Google to see if I could get any in South East Michigan. I came across Uncle Peter's. It being a Saturday I didn't mind the 40 minute drive. When I walked in I was greeted with a friendly hello. I was also told they had more frozen in the back. I requested 8 different pasties. My husband and I purchased them for 3 different households'. One set of friends had theirs last night. They said they were delicious. My husband and I are eating ours right now. I had to stop eating to write this review. I am eating the beef and my husband is eating the Venison, plus the apple for dessert. They are delicious, HUGE, filling, and we will definitely be going back to get more. Thank you.

If you love the UP but the Metro Detroit area is too far away, go here instead. As soon as I walked in the door, I felt like I was in the Keweenaw. I did the take-and-bake thing, one Venison and one Elk for $10 a piece. They take an hour to cook frozen at 350, or 30 minutes if you can get them thawed out of the fridge in the store. I called ahead and they set some aside for me before I got there. They are perfectly made. The pastry is flaky and tightly tucked, but they are completely filled, and layered so well you could eat them with your hands (pasties were a bagged lunch for the copper miners in the 1800s). What a find. Thank you, Uncle Pete!

This place is constantly closed early. I have been let down so many times trying to get food from here. They have good pasties but I recommend going someplace else. They don’t know what customer service is and they are barely here. Super disappointed!

I frequent the U.P and am a total sucker for muldoons pasties in Munising so I was setting the bar high. The owner or who ever opened was super nice ans I was there right when he opened. and the options were crazy beef, chicken, Buffalo , venison I went traditional beef and got chicken for the wife and kid . And they did not disappoint. Flaky buttery Crust and filling was awesome 10/10 will def go back and try the others. . Wish I’d of taken picks but was to hungry ??

This is the only pasty shop left in the area. I don't make pasties in the summer. Way too hot in the house. So I don't make or have any in my freezer; I head to Uncle Peter's.

Uncle Peter’s pasties are the best Pasties I have had in along time.Since the 1st day we walked in the door, the gentleman behind the counter has treated us like we had been friends forever. We always have interesting conversations, and leave with a smile on our face. With an amazing Pastie dinner when we get home!!!!

I had the good fortune to sample both the beef and chicken pasty offerings, from here. Both excellent. Learned that ketchup is the acceptable UP accompaniment to the beef. BBQ sauce with the chicken. The crust was buttery and baked to blue ribbon perfection. Enjoyed conversation with the owner, and appreciated the wonderful recipe of these meat pies.

I should have gotten a classic for my first try but I tried the spinach and Feta. Wasn't a huge fan. But I've heard good things about the beef pasties.

Loved the hot pasties... the frozen ones are easy to bake at home. The Yuppers have some flavor down under. Great conversation with Matthew about cuisine and life around the metro. #auric
