We were seated promptly. Waited on immediately. Food was great. Server continuously checked with us. All good!
Menu is very limited. They host up to 9 weddings per weekend. The whole resort was packed with people that were not staying at resort. Not worth the money.
Our waitress Hannah was a complete sweetheart! We had a great time celebrating our friends birthday
Service was fabulous! Menu was limited which is unfortunate because we were looking forward to the prime rib and salmon dinners.
We always end our vacation in the Hastings area with the last evenings dinner at Bay Pointe. The staff there are very professional and attentive.
They were out of an ingredients for a signature dink, out of a featured dessert, asparagus was rock hard and slipped off plate onto my shirt. 2nd featured dessert choice was rock hard. Waiter was not seen very often.
We had terrible service at Bay Point Inn. It took 40 minutes to get a cocktail and the waitress brought half a container of dressing for my salad and said it was the end of the container. Never brought more even though I asked for more. Didn't have dessert and coffee because it would have taken another hour to get. I was extremely disappointed for that place.
Beautiful place for a meal outside on the patio with live music, sunshine and great food!
The Mother's Day buffet is something we do every year and look forward to. I do think this year some corner were cut and those were noticed. The prime rib was super tough and the chef serving it was very rude and unfriendly. We also enjoyed most of what we had, but after our 3rd year we're hoping for some variety in food options. Our server was great and the plates were picked up quickly.
What a lovely location on beautiful Gun Lake. We had a comfy booth with a slight view. Food was very good and well presented. Appetizer of focaccia with goat cheese was just enough and so flavorful. House salad was beautiful and also delicious. I had the filet and my husband had the Hanger steak special. Both were well prepared. We seemed to have gotten in just before an group event and it looked like Prom. It got very busy. Limited menu and slightly $$. We look forward to returning to Baypoint on a Wednesday for Gun Lake live.

Food was good overall. Dessert was clearly straight from GFS. Server was very inattentive and clearly not trained in details. They are trying to be a higher end establishment with the pricing and menu options, but the large screen TVs with sports reflect a sports bar - not a Saturday date night destination. $130 for 2 people without alcohol and I expect more.
I really wanted to give this place 5 stars! Let me explain, because I feel like family’s who may be hosting a wedding here need to know and prepare for things that are un expected.
This venue is beyond beautiful, every detail top to bottom makes it unique and elegant. We fell in love after visiting one summer. The fall decor and nature was even better. My daughter booked a fall wedding and we couldn’t be more excited!
The unexpected happens to everyone we know that. Loss of a family matriarch is one thing, and we knew it wasn’t far away. The bride family’s heart broken but dealing. The second loss just 6 weeks later was unexpected and devastating to say the least, also to the bride and her immediate family. Finally the third, a terminal cancer diagnosis for the grooms family. The mother of the groom would now be caring and battling with her husband. Wedding planning shopping and all that comes with it would not be happening. Rightfully so.
At this point we just wanted to delay the date. Being over a year out we were hopeful. We wanted to allow both families to heal and restart the planning of this very special day. Enjoy it, all be a part. We did NOT want to change any of the payment schedule. Ever. We were open with months and dates, just wanted to wait maybe a year, or 18 months. We were met with very little understanding. Baypointe did not consider this an “emergency”. The only options were get married right now, in less then two months. Or take a date in January February or March. 3-6 months after the original fall date. Not helpful at all but bit we took a March date. We were praying this gave enough time to grieve. With a passing day in December it actually made things worse. Not only did one family not even get to enjoy the preparation but they were not in a healthy place mentally.
So while the venue is beautiful, breathtaking and perfect in many ways, the day, the planning and mental space one is in is far more important. The service and employees were amazing the entire weekend and we made the absolute best of a situation. God sent us sunshine which was a blessing on a cold March day.
I just wanted both Baypointe to know that while they may be an amazing resort they gave our families zero empathy during a tough time. My daughters dream vision of a day you get to do one time, looked very different. We enjoyed a very empty resort because nobody wants a March wedding on a lake in Michigan. Family's think long and hard about what god may throw at you, because you can not plan things like this.
Dietary restrictions: Great for our family’s gluten free needs
Kid-friendliness: The kids loved the pool and hot tub.

Was very impressed with the ambiance and the hostesses that seated us. Sat for 5 minutes before anyone came to our table and brought us water, was not our waitress. She came a few minutes after and took our drink order and we placed our appetizer order. The trio of dips was good. We asked about the prime rib size as it's not in the menu and the waitress did not know. Ordered that with salads and got our prime first then salads. Salads were good, potatoes good, beans mediocre, prime good. But by the time I got done eating my salad the prime wasn't very warm. Waitress came to our table once to check our food, didn't refill waters or pop. Was nice once but not sure we'd go back for the price. Wanted the perch but was told it was heavily battered. Overall rating a high 3!
The meals served to us were outstanding and the service personnel were equally outstanding.
We normally frequent Bay Pointe in the summer to listen to music on the water or for dinner by the water. This year we did Christmas here and it was perfect! We had lunch in the elegant Fireside room and then stayed at the cottages. Everything was perfect. Staff was so accommodating and kind. Continental breakfast did not disappoint and the Christmas decor made it so beautiful and peaceful. I could move in!!
