Admiral Jack's Bar & Grill

Looked like a great place to watch a game and drink. For lunch it was overpriced for the quality of food we got. Nice to see the water.

We ate here on a day trip to the area. The food was good, and service was excellent. The outdoor seating by the water is nice. Overall a good experience, and a good spot for lunch.

Wonderful waterside bar, full of fun people and good drinks. Overlooking all the waterway action as it passes by. Recommend!

Admiral Jack’s is a very casual eatery where you can get cocktails on the Black River in South Haven. We stopped here for lunch and sat at the bar outside and enjoyed the view. My husband and I started with cocktails, a paloma for me and a gin & tonic for him.. I was disappointed that the bar didn’t carry mezcal, which I always have with in my paloma. That was a miss for me. Our bartender was Allie and she was friendly and provided good service. My husband had the walleye sandwich for lunch and said it was very good. I had the smoked fish dip with cucumber chips and tortilla chips. That dip was amazing. I also had a side salad to complete my lunch. The salad was your typical side salad, but was large for a side salad and was crisp and fresh. Fun place to stop for lunch or a cocktail.

We had a fit with the fish. Walleye served very overcooked, they prepared another dish (cod) but it came way late and my mate had already finished his meal and had to wait... We were aiming for a quick bite and head to our overnight stay.

? Top shelf alcohol seemed a bit high for the area at $30/shot so only had 1. I didn't think I was in Miami ?

The atmosphere was fun, just not a place to dine.

I have no idea what it's like. I have MS and decided to walk there from the shops because their website said they were open. I used all of my energy to get there walking only to find the gates chained. Thank the Lorfd there were benches around so that I could recoup to try and locate somewhere close with a restroom because I was desperate at this point.

My elderly parents really enjoy it here because they love watching the boats.

The food is just your average bar food. Nothing special. The margaritas taste like mixer. The spicy margarita can hardly be considered spicy.

Definitely more of a bar vibe and not necessarily family friendly. It’s a small, tight restaurant so there is no room to push a stroller, so it’s very understandable if have to collapse it.. but none of the tables have chairs with backs to them. I can’t hold an infant for 2 hours on a backless bar stool.

Very loud. The corner of the restaurant I was in by the covered bar was so loud it was impossible to hold a conversation even with the person I was sitting directly next too.

Nice lunch on the last day of service for the season. Understandably, they were out of a few items but still plenty on the menu to choose from. We opted for boom boom shrimp and the cod fish basket. We liked the shrimp better than fish but both were fine. Fries were hot and generous. Nice location and we enjoyed dining by the water in this casual bar/ restaurant.
