I ordered a wet chicken burrito and when I got my food I looked and saw an ant crawling over my chips.

Did a little wine tasting in the area and played golf at Hawks Head and heard good things about Clemintines. Had to wait for a table about 15 minutes, had a French dip which was average but the onion rings on a stick were excellent. The historic building with tall ceilings is neat but unless I'm in the area wouldn't need to go back but would recommend trying it once for sure. I believe the owners of Clemintines and Hawkshead golf course are the same. NOVEMBER 3 2023 update Wife and I went down to South Bend to play a little golf at the Warren Notre Dame golf course in Blackthorn, which were very nice courses and on the way back I wanted to try clementines again it’s been a few years I think although our experiences here were mediocre mostly for the nostalgia. I like the old building but to wait 20 minutes at 2 o’clock in the afternoon on the Friday to get a table is Chyna Stretching it for the quality of the food. I had the French dip again with fries about 40 bucks which is OK nothing to brag about wife had a nice burger, but yeah, just a cup of coffee for her. No no drinks for me and it was 37 bucks with tip services average but I do like the old building, it’ll probably be a few years again I think next time I’ll try the Butler up in Saugatuck again that’s been probably at least 10 years or 15 since I’ve been there but I’ve heard funny things about that time if you know what I mean and I’m not that kind of guy with my 41 year marriage to my female wife anyway yeah I guess I try the ambience is kind of cool as a former car salesman I like seeing this a picture of a car for $675 in old Pontiac probably from the 40s or whatever or 30s. I don’t know what that’s about it. Actually, with the picture of the fish is from culvers, which for 15 bucks is a much better deal, believe it or not

Poor Hospitality and Customer Service. We had a 7 hour drive to Southhaven MI from Southern IN. We are celebrating our Wedding Anniversary. I was not feeling well. My husband went to Clementine’s for a late dinner. We heard good things and have never eaten at this restaurant. Cleminetine’s had a 40 min wait on Wed 10/18/23 at 6:45 pm. He was going to wait in line and eat at this establishment. He wanted to bring me soup or a salad. The Bartender told my husband he couldn’t place a to go order for me. Again he was willing to wait 40 min and eat inside of restaurant. I called the Manager and she said this is not entirely true and said he could have ordered to go food since he was eating at restaurant. She was very short and abrupt. She said “what can I do for you” as we have people waiting in line to be served. I asked her their policies. I explained situation and she kept interrupting me. She said “we are doing the best we can since we are experiencing staffing issues.”Then she hung up on me. I have never been treated so Rude. Needless to say we will not be back. This is what Clementine’s call Hospitality. Wow!! My husband ordered me a Salad from the Southhaven BrewPub. They were very Nice and accommodating.

Been going to Clem's for decades...this is the first time we encountered hasty and borderline rude treatment by the staff. Wasn't terribly crowded but perhaps the staff was either overworked, or understaffed? Usually we are greeted with joy and enthusiasm. Food was good, but staff was either borderline rude, or detached. We ordered and tipped as usual, but hope this doesn't signal a change in management (for the worse).

Great spot, ate there twice it was so good. Recommend by a friend who had been there several years before. Still just as good.

Ordered a hamburger well-done. It was VERY much not well-done (!). Visited on 07-Sep-23 at 5:30pm.

Great customer service! We did have a little bit of wait time but other than that I would not complain about anything here. The food was amazing!! I would definitely come back again

Good food, long wait, which we didn’t mind at all but the hostess was so rude. Told people how the locals can’t drop everything during the summer when over 30,000 people visit

Rude hostess, was then later told she was in charge when asked to speak with a manager. She swore at us at the table and was extremely rude and put out by any questions we had. Will not return and would never have someone like that greeting or speaking to customers that way.

the food is mediocre. It is family friendly. The hostess lacks warmth and is bored out of her mind. Replace her. I had the fish sandwich. Why do restaurants chop the lettuce of a sandwich. It doesn't remain on the sandwich. It was served with overly steamed fresh broccoli, sort of for a child's palate. My husband had a fiesta chicken salad and he was happy with it. the kids had Mac n cheese, a kid marinara and the daughter a harbor town. We all wondered why this restaurant was so hyped. You can pass without much loss.

Walleye and Perch delicious, fair prices. Staff were friendly. Sides were very limited and entre served with cheesy garlic bread which did not really complement the meal to well. Building had a historical feel. Would eat here again.

A friend recommended this restaurant. We loved it. Had a fresh, tasty lunch. My Husband had the pan fried Walley and seafood chowder - both of them were delicious. I had a beautiful fresh chicken salad loaded with cheese and fresh tomatoes. We also got an order of onion rings- delicious. Just a great lunch with great service in a beautiful historic building.

Almost didn't visit this restaurant because of the bad reviews. Although it was close to an hour wait, we visited a few shops and shared a bench with several lovely people. Our waitress Juliet was wonderful and very attentive. My husband enjoyed his steak and potato and I had the ham sandwich on a pretzel bun with beer cheese dip. Thank you Juliet for the wonderful service. It was our 36th wedding anniversary!

We went as 2 adults and a teenager one evening during our week in South Haven but were told 90min wait for table (when they were closing in 2hrs! - they close at 9pm) so we walked away. A couple of days later we tried again for a lunchtime and had a 15min wait for a table, but at least there was inside seating away from the midday heat. I have to say I agree with other reviewers that the people on the front desk were not particularly welcoming (didn’t get a welcome hello or even a smile) but our waitress was very lovely, friendly and very helpful. Food came quickly, and tasted fine. I had shrimp, which was good, my husband enjoyed his fish, and my daughter had a huge burrito (half of which came home with us to be finished the next day). No complaints about food or service but not sure I’d be bothered to go again due to unfriendly welcome and wait time.
