This is our 4th time to the River Bottom. The first three times the bar disappointed and we stopped coming but tonight Norman was our bartender and the drinks were amazing! The presentation and preparation was amazing!! The food has always been good. Tonight I felt i was at a speakeasy.

Pleasantly surprised with the moody setting and comfortable seating. Food and service was top notch. Highly recommend.
While the atmosphere is cool, it smelled pretty bad. That’s pretty much the only good thing I have to say about this place. Bartender was rude, (short hair), for absolutely no reason. It kind of caught me off guard. I was under the impression that a Gin and Tonic is a shot or 2 of gin and majority tonic… We got almost full glasses of gin, with a splash of tonic. We had to force ourselves to drink them. It felt super irresponsible of the bartender to serve us that much alcohol in one drink. I guess we got our moneys worth but it was quite insane. She clearly wanted people to leave so she could close the bar down and go home. I was really disappointed.

The restaurant is underground and has a speakeasy setting. The flavors are good but entree portions are extremely small for the price point. They are not served with side dishes. I ordered the Adana kebab entree and it only came with a very thin piece of bread. After an appetizer and an entree, I was still very hungry.

The best Turkish Restaurant we have been to outside of Turkey. Unbelievable taste and warm atmosphere. Turkish food is one of the world's cuisines and most people do not know about it. For a place like this to be in South Haven Michigan is a miracle. We know because we have been Turkey 30 times and part of our family is from there. So listen to us, go there. Ask the waitress what to order. They are Turkish too and unique for Southwest Michigan. Give Elif a big tip. She is so beautiful.
