Hellenic Coney Island

The atmosphere was nice, clean, modern, and welcoming. Our waitress was super nice and we didn’t wait for anything. Prices are decent too. I would directly compare their prices with coney’s. The difference is, the food isn’t as good as Coney’s. I ordered the gyro since the restaurant has a Greek feel with a Coney Island undertone. First gyro came out was a bit burnt and crunchy. They replaced it with no problem and the 2nd one was up to par. My son ordered the corn beef, chili fries, and cheese sticks. Of the 3, he said only the cheese sticks were as good as Coney’s. My gyro was comparable as well. My wife met us at the end and ordered carry out. Her chicken taco salad looks fire. Can’t wait to see what it’s like. I may come back for an update.

Meh. There are such better coneys and diners in the area - this one is expensive and a bit skimpy on portions. The Greek salad with grilled chicken was pretty decent, but could have had more feta. It was fresh, at least. My hubby's club was pretty lame, though - one single slice of turkey per piece of bread. He also ordered cheese fries, and out bill was like $45. I think too pricey for what you get. the dining area is really clean and new looking, though.

Looking for a quick meal and ran across this establishment. First time I went it was late and mostly empty. Food was freshly prepared and very good. Second time I went at lunch and it was crazy busy! Food was freshly prepared and still, very good! Seems to be a trend...

They are a cool group. My daughter worked there 30 years ago and had a great time. When she is in town, she picks up their Greek salad dressing -about 8 bottles and several pasta salads. I pick up once in a while their top notch Greek salad.

Today I stopped by to pick up a bowl of soup, two hotdogs with cheese and a mini Greek salad no chicken. I placed my carry out order waited. After 10 minutes I asked the waitress and she said busy but soon. I get 30 minutes for lunch and after 17 minutes I asked to cancel my order. I had to be back at work for a meeting in less than 10 minutes. The waitress went and cancelled my order refunded my money. The owner stuck his head out the kitchen window to rudely tell me BYE and I mean rudely. I called back to discuss what happened and the owner came to phone- my reason to call was not to discuss the order but that the comment and attitude was completely unnecessary. I work for the City and have been to this establishment for many years. The owner was even ruder on the phone- I said it wasn’t necessary to make the comment and he said “it wasn’t necessary to cancel the order”. And then had to say “what do you want a kiss” and accused me of harassment and told me I didn’t have to come back. I have never experienced this type of behavior at any restaurant. He was Pissed completely off because I had to leave and cancel my order. I get that it was busy that’s why I waited but he did not need to respond or say anything. Yes, I will never spend my money in your establishment again.

Response: I never threatened you let’s be clear those were made by you. Canceling my order should not have been a problem or caused such hostility. It was never that serious until you felt the need to make a rude comment. The food was never for me it was for my kid who’s visiting from out of town and loves the soup. The problem was not people picking up their orders it was again waiting almost 20 minutes for hotdogs without any acknowledgment I had to ask but it’s all good. Have a great holiday

Over rated. Based on area cost same as any coney island restaurant. Over priced

The food is good, but the prices are to high compared to other Coney Islands so it's not convenient to the customer.

Let me tell yall about this hot chicken pasta. It has always been to die for tasty and just delicious. When you get it with everything and the sauce. U must ask for the sauce. U are going to fall in love with it lol

Food was ready for us at the time we needed it and everything was prepared correctly. Also tasted great. We will be keeping this place on rotation while in town and needing places to eat.

First time here corn beef was good, home made chilli fries was ok. It keep getting like plastic from eating and the Spanish pie was good wish I would’ve got cheese added to it. They didn’t check on me see how everything was. The server said when was leaving thank you and have a good day. Not once every check on me but make sure you got that tip.
