Hidden Gem Restaurant

I hate to leave a review. Especially a negative one but this place really has some audacity. It’s basically somebody’s decorated basement. Yes it looks cute but it’s tiny and congested and cheap and I don’t mean the prices. Actually the prices are quite the opposite not only that, but the owner thinks he can be shiesty and pull one over on the customers and try to get even more money out of them as well even after they’ve already left the establishment. I came here to support a friend and I can assure I will never be back here or encourage people to check it out. You can have a much better experience, food, and way better drinks that don’t come in a solo cup at any other city any other restaurant for the price they try to make you pay. They clearly want business so I don’t know why they make sure people don’t come back? God bless y’all though. Good business comes with morals and professionalism.

My husband and I stopped in today 8-2-25 trying to support. We ordered wings and Mac and cheese he had 1 crab cakes with sweet potato fries and greens. The greens were pretty good but the chicken was brown on the inside to the bone a sign to me of old chicken the mac and cheese was not the best. It seems like it was reheated with added cheese.
I did not complain as my husband ate the food to not be embrassed but I don't want people to experience the didappointment I did.
The staff was nice. Don't forget 18 % gratuity is added to the bill.

I went there for a birthday dinner. I ordered catfish at 8 pm as well as a kids meal. I was not told they were out of catfish until my sister’s food came out (ordered at the same time) at 9 pm. I then ordered a turkey chop. Waited about 45 minutes. When asking where my food was. The waiter said “oh, we ran out”. I then ordered a steak that did not come out until 10. It was disgusting and undercooked. My baby did not get her food until 10:15. They did not make the food based off of how it was ordered because there were many people getting their food before I did. My baby didn’t eat until 10pm and she didn’t even receive the whole order. There were at least 7 meals we told them we didn’t want anymore because they took over two hours to make. At the end they decided to give us a 10 percent discount.

It has to be family or friends leaving good reviews because there's absolutely no way my family and I had the same food. We came in with a party of 8 and when I say EVERYONES food was disgusting EVERYONES food was disgusting! Pancakes were UNDER cooked and still had batter on the inside. Eggs tasted like the same eggs you would get from a hotel. Steak was tough and unseasoned. Service was extremely slow, and It took us an hour to receive our food. We definitely won't come back. It's hard to support black businesses when you get the bare minimum. Do yourselves a favor and go elsewhere.

Not worth the visit

Tried this place a couple of times and it continues to be a bland experience. Went this time with another couple. I had turkey chops, greens, and potatoes. The entire meal was underwhelming for the price. The greens were tough with no juice. The potatoes tasted like they were reheated several times over. And the turkey chops had no seasoning at all. The couple attempted to order broiled fish however that wasn't an option although it was on the menu as a means of preparation.

I ordered the lamb chops dinner with macaroni and cheese and greens everything was terrible the macaroni and cheese taste like the box macaroni. The greens taste like vinegar and the lamb chops taste like someone just cooked them if it wasn’t for the zip sauce the lamb chops would of been terrible as well never going back here ever again

This is a great spot to kick back and relax, have some good food, and feel at home. ❤️

This is a great place and the atmosphere is a vibe love the byob and the waitress Rasheda made sure my food was on point. The owner is cool and interact with the customers on the 1 on 1 basis. The other staff was nice definitely going back it's a vibe

A friend was there and the waitress was threatening towards a French family.

The curry chicken is terrible , rice was under cooked and hard cracked my tooth, chicken was overcooked and dry. There is no curry or seasoning. The house Salad was all lettuce and cheese, no tomato , no cucumber. A waste of $60

The drinks, canned pop to expensive and they only had 1 can of pepsi left, so if I wanted a refill I could not get one, the lemonade was sour and the kool-aid was powdered unsweetened, the greens were not tasty and cold. The steak was unseasoned, I took 1 bite and asked for steak sauce which they did not have (I didn't take another bite of it), the mac and cheese was not too bad, the yams were good, the perch was ok and the salmon bites, they were very over priced. We paid cash and later found out that there was a charge of 4 percent charge for using a card which wasn't used. There was lemon on green beans, they were not tasty. The waitresses and the cook were very pleasant. Rating out of 10 I give it a 2. $172.58 for 3 meals is RIDICULOUS Do Better
