I stopped by here on the way into the office to get my team some carby bites before the Easter break coming up. Figured a bit of change from the typical donut run. It's busy here, that's usually a good sign. I was 4th in line, more folks inside waiting on their food order. I ordered two baker's dozen: Blueberry, Raisin, Sesame, Everything, Garlic and Parmesan with 4 tubs of cream cheese: Plain, Garlic, Chives and Sundried tomato. I was advised to get two tubs for every baker's dozen. $49.94 Minus the everything bagel and Parmesan, the blueberry, raisin, garlic and sesame were more sparse than I prefer my bagels. The dough inside the bagel was decent, but not like the big billowy ones I have eaten in NYC, could it be the Detroit water? Still the bagels smelled good and were okay, my team appreciated the carbs to fill their belly for the day's work.

My kids love a good bagel and now that we've sworn off Einstein we are on the hunt. This place is old school with a real knife and a plug in toaster, but the bagels are on point. I think they do a big business with local businesses as well.

These bagels, at this location, are the freshest and most delicious bagels anywhere. So good!

Best bagels I've had in 40 yrs. Einstein, Bruegger's and Starbucks bagels don't even come close to the bagels from here.

Best bagels around.

Two years I was eyeballing this location, always wondering what awaited inside. I love a good, fresh baked bagel. Upon walking in, I noticed the smell of stale cigarette smoke. I ordered a Parmesan bagel with garlic herb cream cheese. The gal waiting me was pleasant. We made small talk while she toasted my bagel in a toaster for me. So, service was ok. Other bagel shops generally cut it in half, but whatever. The cream cheese was pretty soft, but it was in a heated bagel that tends to happen. The bagel itself was horrible. It was overcooked and so dry. I seriously thought about throwing it away.

The service was good, but the bagels were stale...like beyond stale even with it being toasted. The cream cheese was too much and too soft. I had fresh cream cheese before and they probably just make their cream cheese very soft, but it was almost runny. I did not enjoy it.

I came to this place about a year ago and had an amazing experience. They changed the staff i guess and these older ladies work there now and they were rude as hell. I don’t know if it was because i’m black or what but they really take the beauty and good vibes out of this place it’s so sad.

New York Bagel has been making great bagels at this location since about 1974. There is a small cooler which contains a decent selection of cold drinks and toppings for your bagels. There is also a small rack of packaged bagel chips and bagels. These photos were taken five minutes before the store closed on a weekday and, as you can see, they had a few of everything still left. The bagels weren't still steaming hot like they are in the morning but they were still soft and fresh. Very nice people work here and they will heat your bagel if you ask. Currently the store is open everyday from 7am until 2 pm.

I went to the Southfield location today and had the rudest experience ever. I placed my order and the staff members was not friendly. I asked for 2 bagels and a cream cheese. I asked for it to be heated because there was a sign that said bagelsCan be toasted with cream cheese purchase. She flails her arms and said there’s no microwave in here. I then pointed out the sign to which she said I guess I can since no line is here ( I was the only customer there). I then said that’s ok and went to get my cream cheese out the fridge and she yells what are you doing those are .99 cents. I ordered one but she says she didn’t hear me and to just take it. I really wanted to return the food. I will NEVER stepFoot in there again.
