Looks like these guys have joined the ranks of Bread Basket; once great old school deli's that have slowly lowered their standards and sharply raised their prices. I remember the sandwiches being twice the size at half the price.

This is really ridiculous. I tried to place an online order over the phone 15 minutes before closing and was lectured by the person who answered about waiting to late to place an order. She woukd not place my order but ad used me to get there before closing. I got there at 6:53 and was shooed away, (literally the guy at the door waved me back to my car). Total waste of time and extremely unprofessional. If you close at 7, you should service customers until 7!

Ordered a tray for break fast. Not a good food experience. The ordering and pick up went fairly easy. The actual tray failed mine and my guest expectations. The lettuce that covered the tray was wilted and dark green. The chicken salad and tuna salad had been so processed, there was hardly any texture….flavor was minimal, the aluminum trays were stuffed with lettuce halfway to the top. my guests were very kind but I noticed they hardly ate any of it. It’s because it wasn’t good. The sliced vegetables cheese and pickles were fine. We were not happy with the tray in general and when I returned the physical tray today, i let them know that I would no longer be ordering trays from Star Deli. The general manager was upset and said how can we make this better . I wasn’t looking for any sort of financial return. Just wanted them to know that their quality is lacking. The general manager called the daughter of the owner to come and talk to me. She stood there with her eyes, bewildered and curious and when I told her my Dissatisfaction she said “oh OK. Well, nobody else called to complain…. So…. Sorry you feel that way” ?
Bye bye Star Deli…. Hoping this granddaughter doesn’t someday own the deli, because she has absolutely no concern for the customer.

Take a look at reviews, they have been getting alot of negative lately. $18 for a corned beef sandwich is ridiculous. Also, I stood in line, ordered at register was told to go to end of line because sandwich maker didn't take my order. Expecting me to wait for the three people who came in after. Ill never be back. Went to chick-filet for $11

The Ruben is to die for. Maybe even better than the Breadbasket. It's a bit on the expensive expensive side, though. $18 for a sandwich. The inside is definitely on the old dumpy side, but you don't go their for the atmosphere. You go their for excellent food.
This place used to be a great place to visit. My recent visits have been very disappointing. I usually get the New Yorker on grilled rye. Not so great these days. Most days the staff is moody. Never know what kind of atmosphere you will be walking into. I stop going for awhile one guy was so rude on a regular basis that I decided that I wasn’t paying for a bad sandwich and experience rudeness from employees. I may not never return. So far it’s been a few months. The staff just seems so miserable!!!

Masks are back as is the plexiglass. Like a pandemic time capsule. The sandwiches are fine but not worth $18.00 unfortunately my 30 years of patronage ended today. Not worth the effort nor the fear mongering. Sid would be disappointed.
