Starter's Bar and Grill Southfield

I was visiting the Detroit area from Texas. I went to this place to watch the Lions game... so I didn't eat. It's a sports bar. Given the other places I have traveled and been to sports bars, this is a good one. Compared to sports bars in Texas, it's just OK. It's a little small. The service was decent. The staff seemed to be more interested in watching the game than making money. If you're in the area, it's fine, but I wouldn't drive across town for this place.

I love their catfish! This is a good place to eat and enjoy your food. The people there were so nice and all the food we ordered (alot) was sooo good. It was my first time there and I can't wait to go back.

Sat at the bar and got about 8 shots for the price of 1!

Fun atmosphere. Plenty of TVs to watch your favorite sporting event. No tap beer which was disappointing.
I cannot recommend the steaks poor quality not good even for the price the offered.

My waitress was top-notch and the food was better than a few of the other locations I've been to. I've been a Starter's patron from day 1 with the original on Plymouth, (before the renovations and expansions). I'll be going to this location from now on.

Some of the help wasn't being professional and that was a bad experience for my wife's first visit.

So the atmosphere and the service man is terrible. No smiles any of employees like they didnt want to be there. I was like omg. Food was great. But their personalities was dry all of the employees. I wont be dining in ever again. Than she mention a tip with talking to my husband. She got our bags so fast with the bill my husband wanted to order more but he said he didnt like the rushing. Food was amazing

The food was nasty. It was TERRIBLE. I ordered a fettuccine Alfredo with broccoli and shrimp it gave me the bubble guts. It was not flavor. Spent $80 on food that I did not enjoy. I left the restaurant still hungry

Location is great. On Evergreen Rd in Southfield. Our Waitress was very nice and down to earth. My food and drinks were so good. My boo loved his food as well. Had a great time with good drinks.

Great atmosphere. Very warm and friendly. The food is delicious. The catfish bites are just right with their Tartar sauce. So glad to have them as a neighborhood staple

Mac&Cheese 🤮 Mash potatoes & gravey with pork chops = dry with NO flavor.
Steak bites= spicy,
Rib tips = greasy
I'm giving 3 thumbs down.
Now I have to go home and cook🤬

If you don’t know how to fry chicken just say so chicken was salty. The batter was just falling apart. It also taste like it was burnt😡 I waited all day to come eat I haven’t been to starter in years I don’t no what happened now I feel sick 🤢 service was good

Red Snapper, asparagus, fries. Red snapper and asparagus were great, although a $2 up charge for the asparagus seems silly. Fries were fine, but not the best I’ve had.
