Nice clean place. Tried the chicken and cheese Papusas. Pretty tasty looks like they have lots of meat things to try. A guy I work with said they also had a really good burger.

The food was very good. I had a chicken plate that was delicious. The service was top-notch. The atmosphere was very relaxed.

I had high hopes after seeing the 4.7 star review, but I feel completely bamboozled. This place is way overpriced for very underwhelming food. I ordered a beef burrito and what was served to me was 90% (not exaggerating) beans rolled in a tortilla. My girlfriend ordered pork pupusa's and they were bland and didn't have an ounce of meat on them. Our pastor tacos were $4 a piece and dry. Nothing was worth the price at this restaurant. The owner/chef did come out to ask us how the food was and I felt awful telling him that it was just OK (although I wanted to say I wanted a refund). I love supporting local businesses, but this was a first and last for us unfortunately.

This place has really good food but the service is horrible and should be noted you will be here for hours trying to get your food and refills on drinks would be an awesome place if had more/ better service

Stopped for an early dinner on a Friday. Service was fantastic--hospitable and attentive. Our food was very good. But having eaten a lot of excellent Guatemalan food, this was a little different. I guess there are a variety of styles even in smaller countries. The dining room is festive with bright colors and attractive murals. It would be nice to feature some Guatemalan music. It seemed a little eerie listening only to compressors running.

Wonderful Place! Great Kalxan Chicken and Ixcanul Burrito. We will be back. Owner/chef came around and chatted with us and others. It was nice to meet him and let him know how very much we enjoyed all the food he made for us.

This place sucks. Queso is so watered down. The food has zero flavor. Awkward staff. Looks like it was just thrown together. Took way too long for our food. I could go on and on lol we were joking about how we left Gordon Ramsey was going to pop out. It was truly a waste of time, underwhelming, not worth it what so ever. Better off going to Taco Bell.

I originally posted a negative review of Ixcanul because I drove way out of way to try it, only for it to be closed contrary to their posted hours on the website and google. I have since been able to try it and really enjoyed the food. The flavors are unique for the area and it’s quite affordable as well. If I was a college kid nearby I’d probably go here often.

I absolutely love Ixcanul! I'm so grateful to get Guatemalan food near by! The food is fresh, cooked perfect, The staff are sweet as pie, the owner always checks stops by your table and asks how our dinner is, the place is so clean you could eat off the floor, and the atmosphere is great!

Ixcanul is a family owned & operated restaurant that shows its pride in excellently prepared food and great service. All homemade and perfectly prepared. I've never been disappointed with the food or the service, and always feel welcome. The menu has a wide variety of dishes to choose from. Serves beer and wine, and also offers a friendly family atmosphere. It's truly a hidden gem in a strip mall in Spring Arbor.

Easily one of the best authentic ethnic restaurants in mid Michigan. We tried Guatemalan dishes and everything was flavorful without being overly salty, heavy, or spicy. The restaurant itself is modern and clean and the service was good.
