I guess I am just spoiled by the ice cream places along harper. I stopped here to get a big malt. No extra ingredients or anything special. Rang up as $16. Then the screen is asking for a tip with the staff member watching a foot from my face. It felt surreal, with tip almost $20 for a simple big malt? I'm just used to places along harper that will load one up with fun ingredients and it's still half the price. So it just felt weird, like is this special rich people...
Love the nostalgia of this long time family owned business in The Shores. I appreciate the variety and sugar free and dairy free options available. Upon every visit I have had over the many years, the owner and staff has been very friendly and as sweet, if not sweeter than the ice cream! I’ve even witnessed them deal with a customer that has been rude and obnoxious. Kudos to the staff calmly handling the situation with kindness and patience. I sympathize with anyone in the service...

When I asked why he doesn't just go through one manufacture he said he only uses the best flavors of all different kinds.
That stood out to me! Instead of cutting corners- Mastro's is dedicated to giving the customer the best experience possible!
