I really wanted to like House of Chan in Sterling Heights, but the experience was pretty disappointing. The food is advertised or expected to be more Mandarin-style, but what I got didn’t match that at all in quality or execution.
Everything came out tasting bland and poorly balanced, like the seasoning was completely off. Instead of bold, clean flavors you’d expect, the dishes just felt flat and unappealing. Some items also seemed rushed or not freshly prepared, especially anything fried, which ended up soggy instead of crisp.
Even basic staples like rice and sides didn’t help improve the meal they were just average at best. For a place with a decent reputation, the food honestly came out awful compared to expectations.
Service was okay, but the main issue was clearly the kitchen. I won’t be returning
I only really like Cantonese Chinese food.

Just Came In For a Lunch Special And Got The Beef and Broccoli.. Probably The Best I’ve Had In a Very Long Time! 10 Bucks And Very Heavy On The Portions. Can’t Beat It. Best In The City!!
Never been there. Always DoorDash. And A LOT!! Food is so good. My favorite is General Tao Chicken HOT. So fantastic!! You get a lot to and price is good
