Mackenzie's Tavern is a wonderful local drinking and dining experience with something for everyone. The owner and staff are very friendly and efficient in their service. The tavern has a very extensive seafood menu towards the end of the week like Thursday and Friday and sometimes Wednesdays. The rest of the time the tavern has a very good bar food type menu featuring Burger or some such. The only day that the kitchen is not open is Sundays when you can bring in your own...
Great food options for a smallish bar. There is a chef there during week (Tues-Fri?) who offers handwritten menu of specials. We had the baked meatballs (delicious) and the Cajun shrimp scampi (added more heat). One of our favorite places for smaller group dinners!
We had an hour to kill and stopped for a quick bite and some drinks. This place checked all the boxes for a local dive bar… a friendly attentive waitress, great food, reasonable prices and a dimly lit, quaint atmosphere complete with good tunes and the regular locals.
