Worth a stop if you’re in Suttons Bay! Wonderful vibes, great food, and good company. They have reorganized their food ordering process so you can order via QR code from the table which was a lot more organized than the last time we visited. Be sure to check out the corn hole in the back corner after you eat!!
A must stop on your beer tour of the area, unless you have a dog. 😥Awesome beer and service. Fantastic outside area to enjoy that beer. The only knock is that they don't allow your beloved pooch in their facility. Ironically they probably have the largest outside environment of any microbrew in the area. And every other brewing co. in the Leelanau area does allow dogs.
Great atmosphere great food fun time with friends
Inviting atmosphere. Good beer. And a solid bar menu. Nothing stood out but not a bad item tried.
Amazing spot for outdoor seating. Good beer collection and their guacamole and chips are worth trying. It gets really crowded during evenings so better to arrive earlier than peak hours. Can’t wait to visit again in winter and fall season to experience a different charm to it.
Very cool place. Awesome vibes. We will definitely make time to stop when back in the area!
Not sure how this place is only #2 beer garden in the nation, it should be #1. My absolute favorite beer garden of all time! A reason to visit Sutton's Bay. Very close to Leelanau Trail.
We normally love Hop Lot but today we arrived before 6pm and they were out of smoked wings and bowls were not on the menu😕 Also it would be lovely to have a NA beer option even if it’s not made here so that those of us adults who can’t drink alcohol have an option other than soda.
My wife and I have been to Hop Lot before and it was a lot of fun. Music, drinks, food, etc. This time we went expecting the same but our experience came up short. Our daughter has a food allergy so we looked over the menu beforehand and picked out a few items to ask about to confirm they were ok. Being Memorial Day weekend, the place was packed so we sat near the entrance. Our table didn’t have a QR code so I got in line for drinks and to ask about the food. 20 min later I got to the bar only for the bartender to point me to a manager near the entrance. I made my way that direction and asked two employees at the entrance my questions. They’d responded that gluten free buns were an option and I mentioned gluten wasn’t related to the allergy. The “manager” then went off to talk to the kitchen while the older “greeter” stayed. I asked clarified the situation with him only to be told that I “should bring something from home”. Now, I understand not every establishment takes allergies into account but when that’s the case the menu typically identifies that or a server apologies and says they can’t accommodate. I have NEVER been told to “bring something from home”. This was especially ironic considering this is a tourist destination, all of whom are away from home. While this didn’t sit well with me, my wife and I agreed to just pick some same options and order anyway. Then came another problem. When I finally tracked down a QR code from another table, the online menu had a fraction of the options shown on their website. Looking for answers another customer mentioned they were able to order food from the merchandise counter. I then made my way there only to be told I could order food there and must wait in the 30 min long bar line.
TLDR: staff was uninformed about food allergens on a menu that didn’t match what was online and getting service was near impossible. But hey, at least the drinks were good.
My wife and I have enjoyed this spot for several years. Keeps getting better & better!!

We really enjoyed the vibe and the beer. It has a large outdoor space, a huge kid friendly sand box, several fire pits, and an outdoor stage for luve music
My only issue was with the food: no appetizers available, and it took way too long for our food to arrive.
Other than that, we had a very enjoyable visit.
Super fun, relaxing place. Beer is great & atmosphere is amazing!
Love the Hop Lot.
I love this place soooo much that I haven’t even gone
THE BEST! Family favorite each time we visit the area. Outdoor atmosphere regardless of season is terrific. Love the igloos. The site has grown over the years and they’ve still kept it fun, woodsy, and family friendly.
