“Absolutely amazing. Great views and wine. Service was OUTSTANDING.We had our dog with us and they treated her and us so well, they went above and beyond.Bob is the absolute best(Did she get her own stack of salami? She did! )PS: the pretzels are insanely good. I’m not even a pretzel person but I’d come back for more.”
“Cool, unsuspecting restaurant. Had the tasting menu. The soup was excellent, and the walleye didn't disappoint either. Wasn't very fond of the dessert but to each their own. Bar tender/server was a nice guy who was enthusiastic about the food and drinks. With 3 tasting menus ordered in our party I expected the chef to come out and say hello. As a chef for the last 20 years this is the best fine dining meal I have had in the Grand Traverse area. Highly recommended.”
“Outstanding food, loved the steak burrito and barbacoa and chicken tacos on freshly made corn tortilla! The hot salsa is wonderful. You'll be so glad you stopped. So friendly and fast too.”
“We went to Lylah's (Suttons Bay) for breakfast. Oh my goodness our sandwiches (Eggscelenta and Morning Hambition) were DELICIOUS! The coffee was good, and the staff was lovely!”
“We enjoyed a tasting and great conversation with our server, who spoke intelligently about their wines and the region. Then we went back the next day for Brunch and more wine. I would recommend this place over and over again. The wine was incredible, the food was inventive and delicious, and the space is beautiful!”
“The best winery in northern Michigan. Small, cozy, best wines and even better service and friendly atmosphere. Hard pressed to find a better view as well. Happy to see its back up in running and the new owner is fantastic. Thanks”
“The sesame crust was fabulous! Overall the pizza was great but the sesame crust took the cake! We just had a 12” cheese, mushroom and onion for the two of us. Perfect size. Next time I will order double mushrooms and onion. There just wasn’t enough toppings.”
“Stopped on before a movie and sat at the bar with Forest. He was wonderful and suggested the white chicken chili. He was not wrong. Yummy!! Then we had the rib-eye. Cooked to perfection. Will definitely return.”
“Amazing dinner x2!!! We are staying at Blackstar Inn for weekend and chose not to leave because service & food was so amazing !! Best staycation ever. Kyle Chef-The duck dish was excellent ! Thank you :-)”
“My favorite brewery. The beer, the food, the music are all consistently excellent. But it's the awesome, happy staff and the gorgeous outdoor seating area carved out of the forest that make Hot Lop so special. We drive 90 minutes just to go there.”
“We spent our amazing "mini-moon" at the Inn at Black Star Farms. This was the first time we stayed at the Inn and we do plan to be back. The staff was friendly, David greeted us at check-in and check-out, great service all around from the front desk to the tasting room on property. Although we did not take advantage of all the wonderful amenities since our stay was short, we are looking forward to being back soon. I loved being able to see the horses from our room. We received a complimentary bottle of wine in our room but of course had to purchase a bottle of our favorite Late Harvest Riesling to share on our 1 year anniversary.”
“It was a nice experience but as We were tasting our Wines my Girl and I both agreed that these tasted very simular to another Winery we both Enjoy often. So She asked if by chance these wines we were tasting were relabeled Fenn Valley Wines and to our happiness they are bottled there for Hawkins. But the Atmosphere here is worth the stop. Fen does alot of Bottling-relabeling for many places all over Michigan and We can usually mark it when we have it and when we ask we haven’t ever been wrong yet. They are marketing geniuses”
“This place is one not to miss! I love Thai food, and the lady cooking knows what she is doing! It is authentic, fresh, delicious with wonderful combinations! It's a bonus that you can do wine tasting next door. Makes for a fun date night! The place is clean & cute. The lights could be dimmed, & add some candlelight & music for a little ambience, I think more people would dine in, but otherwise great! Staff was friendly, courteous & delightful. I suspect the one 3 star review was a competitor. I hope this place is here for as long as I am, my husband & I will always stop when in the area!”
“Lovely small dining restaurant with high end quality meals. First meal here years ago were delicious fish tacos. The fish perfectly cooked. Jalapeno sauce great accent. This week i went for Traverse City restaurant week. Once again, a magnificent meal. I started with siraccha stuffed mushroom caps. I love mushrooms, so easy to please, although i really didn't catch the siraccha. I then had a steak in lobster sauce with shrimp. A side of scalloped potatoes. Absolutely delicious with the steak cooked exactly how i requested. For dessert i had the turtle sundae which was a wonderful finale. There was no disappointment. Highly recommend. Again and again and again...”
“One of the best views on the peninsula. We come up yearly to do wine/cider tastings in the area and Suttons Bay Ciders is a must visit! Great staff, great atmosphere, great ciders!”
