“We had an outstanding experience from the beginning to end. We were going to another restaurant in town, however, with an hour wait, my brother suggested we call North Country and we got right in. Our server Tristan was great, friendly, attentive and efficient. The Cajun Walleye was outstanding as were the other dishes. We will return.“
“This place is the diamond in the rough in Leelanau peninsula! Great food, great service yet more importantly a testament to a local business that strives to please! Bistro Polaris is phenomenal! While you are there…go visit Chris in the Tasting room and don’t forget to stay at the amazing Black Star Farms mansion for a weekend of being pampered and luxury accommodations!!!!“
“My favorite brewery. The beer, the food, the music are all consistently excellent. But it's the awesome, happy staff and the gorgeous outdoor seating area carved out of the forest that make Hot Lop so special. We drive 90 minutes just to go there.“
“Lovely small dining restaurant with high end quality meals. First meal here years ago were delicious fish tacos. The fish perfectly cooked. Jalapeno sauce great accent. This week i went for Traverse City restaurant week. Once again, a magnificent meal. I started with siraccha stuffed mushroom caps. I love mushrooms, so easy to please, although i really didn't catch the siraccha. I then had a steak in lobster sauce with shrimp. A side of scalloped potatoes. Absolutely delicious with the steak cooked exactly how i requested. For dessert i had the turtle sundae which was a wonderful finale. There was no disappointment. Highly recommend. Again and again and again...“
“Super duper delicious! They were short staffed, but we couldn't tell! The meatloaf cupcakes are SAVORY! the Lobster Bisque is great, and the Bang Bang Shrimp is something to write home about! We went on 12/1/2023, around 430 pm. I forget the bartender's name but she was great and seemed like a happy employee! Thanks folks!“
“Everything was phenomenal, the fries were amazing, sweet potato and regular. The burger was hefty and juicy, and the fried fish was crisp and delightful. By far the best thing we experienced was the soup! We had the Reuben soup, complete with rye croutons in it for a spectacularly flavorful crunch. My only regret is not getting more soup to go! The only thing I could improve would be the ribs. While they were fall apart cooked beautifully, the sauce is simply sweet baby rays, nothing made in house. That aside, the fireplace was warm and inviting, and it was hard to stop smiling while sitting near it. An absolute must go to if you're in the area.“
“This is a gem and you mus try!! We had stopped in previously for a drink and popcorn perch— they are addictive. Our wait person Hannah was kind and fun and asked us to come back for Sunday family dinner. We just did and it was $15 for adults and something like $8 for kids —ARE YOU KIDDING!! They want it to be affordable and WOW - a guy playing guitar, fresh lightly battered cod with homemade tarter sauce, brisket -tender with nice BBQ sauce, penne pasta with a meaty sauce, fresh veggies, homemade real mashed potatoes, chicken bites for the kids, corn and tater tots and ALL you can EAT. Everything was beyond good and the staff-Madison and the mgr Becky were awesome. This is a must try and wonderful place we will be at frequently - would love to give it a 10“
“Fischer’s is the best. From the chili, to the chicken, to the French dip, and *drumroll please* the ever life changing sanders cream puff, which my 98yo grandfather requested regularly…Fischer’s is/was/will be a staple for this family.“
“You must get the Brussel Sprouts, enough for 3-4 people! Service can be slow at peak times but friendly. My vodka drink was weak. The food was served hot and was delicious. They'll let you substitute turkey insted of corned beef for the Reuben. The menu has something for everyone. The atmosphere of the inside is dated and could use updating. The outside of the Lodge was beautifully decorated with fall items.Wheelchair accessibility: No large steps. Restaurant is one level even to outside.“
“Old mansion has some ghostly tails which may not even be true after all. With that said that place ghost’s stories or not is still a spooky place. No one has a bad thing to say about the food or the drinks. Staff is great , very helpful.“
“We have been here many times over the years and the taste and quality of the food is consistent. Indoor and outdoor dining is available. They have a full ball. Service is good. Their chowder is very good. Fish and chips are also very good. Not greasy at all. Leland itself is a lovely up north town.“
“Loved the atmosphere..the food was good.. the appetizer, Texas twinkies were delicious, our server, Jessica did an awesome job, and the hostess was very personable, but we did not catch her name.. having gluten-free pizza was greatly appreciated for my...wifeVegetarian options: The staff listens to customers' needsDietary restrictions: Gluten-free pizza,“
“My wife and I stopped at JP for lunch while tasting wines at various wineries around the Old Mission Peninsula! We were very impressed with the rustic atmosphere inside and had wonderful service. The truffle fries were amazing and the club sandwich was very yummy! We will be back!!“
“It's a casino restaurant, so I didn't have high hopes, but as it turns out, the food was really good. I had a burger and fries, and Tator Tots. Everything is done to perfection. But it is still a casino restaurant, so that is why I didn't rate it higher.“
“Cool, unsuspecting restaurant. Had the tasting menu. The soup was excellent, and the walleye didn't disappoint either. Wasn't very fond of the dessert but to each their own. Bar tender/server was a nice guy who was enthusiastic about the food and drinks. With 3 tasting menus ordered in our party I expected the chef to come out and say hello. As a chef for the last 20 years this is the best fine dining meal I have had in the Grand Traverse area. Highly recommended.“
