“We love the nostalgia of this place the decor has a classic up north feel. We have brought our kids here for dinner a few times this past year and they have loved the burgers and pizza! The service and staff are always welcoming and make us feel like we are part of a family every time we come. My favorite is the perch, I personally live the way they prepare it with just a light dusting of batter.”

1st of all, the drive up to Shady Lanes was a GORGEOUS winter wonderland.
Shady Lanes itself sits in beautiful property. The staff were VERY friendly and helpful!
There’s an outside area for sitting and due to the cold, they had these plastic igloos set up. My partner and I grabbed some mulled wine (of which I cannot stop thinking about) and we sat and snuggled in one of the igloos next to the heater! We had an amazing little intimate experience. It was beyond relaxing and cozy!
We can’t wait to revisit when it’s warmer out!”

“Stopped in on Sunday 3/16. Middle of a snow storm but they were open. Guy was working the bar and was pleasant to talk witymh as I enjoyed a pint. He was informed of the industry and welcoming on a crappy day. I look forward to going again.”

My 83 year old Mother said Polish Countryside Kitchen was THE BEST Polish food she has had since her family dinners in Chicago as a child. (Said the Polish sausage was The Best EVER!) “I had a sandwich at Lylah’s today, amazing quality and could easily had fed two people. The flavor was incredible. I am happy to say this is one of my most favorite restaurants in Leelanau county. “We stopped in after getting our Christmas tree from Kolariks Christmas tree farm just before noon on a Saturday. Rookie parent move, we had promised our 2.5yr old a sprinkled donut however when we arrived the case had been wiped out by the busy morning rush. The sweet lady working overheard us talking and offered to make our son a fresh sprinkled donut. Her kindness and delicious donut made his day! Also highly recommend the pumpkin cream cheese muffin and lemon poppyseed muffin! Thank you Chimoski Bakery!”

“We stopped in for an after lunch, early dinner. We weren't looking for a spot necessarily but definitely glad we did. Very cozy feel, definitely family friendly. Good drink options and appetizers as well. We had a fish sandwich and a Reuben and both were excellent. Service is super fast and the staff is really friendly.”

“Green Bird is a little slice of Heaven! They even practice sustainable farming via their “flerd“ (flock of chickens and herd of sheep) who rotate through each row of vines. I sat down and immediately signed up for the wine club because I knew this was something I wanted to support! And yes, the server was new this season but very knowledgeable and warm. No high-brow wine snobbery here! P.S. wine and cheese pairings are fantastic.”

Everything was above and beyond what was described when booking. Beautiful property a short drive from Sutton’s Bay where several unique shops offer something to do if the weather turns.”

“We are from out of state and just visited Sonoma and Anderson Valley California wine country last month. Hands down, I would choose those region due to welcoming and educational staff. Their wine was also of the same quality. We went in late fall and the scenery was stunning. Loraine and Phil and Bel Lago could not have been more accommodating and provided much information beyond just their winery. I should note, we visited 10 wineries and this was tops. I will say, we went to one of their sister locations (French Valley) and their level

“Party of four had dinner there on July 4, 2025. Food was good, but not as advertised on the menu. The apple salad was small and did not have candied walnuts on it and the nachos had no cheese on them. The 1/2 ribs that my husband ordered were tasty, but we ended up ordering cheesy fries after our meals because we were still hungry. The ribs came with coleslaw and nothing else.The server was friendly and efficient.”

“We are locals and frequent Hawkin’s Farm Cellars a lot. The service is friendly and the Thai food is exceptional. My husband especially loves the Pad Thai chicken and I am a huge fan of the Green Curry dish. You could literally close your eyes and just point to anything on the menu and never be disappointed!”

“Truly a special meal. This was BETTER than the photos. Every single thing we ate (baked mozzarella, parfait, salmon Benedict, apple pancake) was so incredibly delicious. Honestly the best meal of the trip. Service was also wonderful. So glad we made the trip out here.”

“Trish’s Dishes in Leland is absolutely fantastic! The food is fresh, homemade, and full of flavor. You can really tell everything is made with care and quality ingredients. The menu has great variety and every dish I’ve tried has been delicious.

The Turkey Wasabi sandwich is the reason I keep coming back—it’s incredible. The flavors are perfectly balanced and it’s one of the best sandwiches I’ve had.
