Never had anything bad here! This is truly some of the best food we’ve had since we lived in Michigan. Recommend the tuna tostadas, cherry burger and the prime rib dip. The drinks are great too!

Had a pecan old fashioned. Interesting but pretty good. We split the walleye sandwich and it was tasty. Highly recommend.

The patio bar is awesome—great atmosphere and killer cocktails. What really blew us away was how both the chef and the owner came by the table to check in. You can tell they care. Super welcoming, great drinks, and just a cool spot all around!

We came in with a large group and were lucky enough to be seated on North Country’s back patio, which honestly feels like a secret garden tucked away from the rest of the world. It’s perfect for summer nights!
The cocktails were on point, especially the blueberry martini — dangerously good, to the point where we had to pace ourselves. The food was excellent across the board. Every dish was clearly crafted with care and execution was top-tier. The chef even brought the food out himself, which added a great personal touch you don’t get at most places.

Our server was attentive and never missed a beat — even when dealing with a group of unpleasant women at the table next to us. He handled them gracefully without letting it affect the vibe for the rest of us. That’s rare, and it didn’t go unnoticed.

North Country nailed it. We’ll be back — and next time, we’re bringing even more friends.

Simply said, do not go to this establishment. We had a very unfortunate string of events during our 1.5 hour dining experience here which the review character limit will not allow me to catalog.

To summarize: The Espresso Martini was terrible, the smell coming from the dumpster just outside the patio where we were seated (and asked to be moved from - twice) was horrendous, and the feedback of the owner to a review given by another member of our group was unprofessional, inaccurate, and frankly, quite rude.

With that said, the food was fine. Nothing great, nothing terrible. I will, however, not ever be back.

Phenomenal food and great service! Later in the night the chef had some time to ask our table how the food was, which was 10/10. So we had to come again, then the owner was nice enough to spend some time with us and shoot the breeze. Great people at the place and will visit again!

The outdoor patio smelt like garbage. We waited for over an hour for drinks and food. Horrific management. Will not return ever.

No longer dog friendly on the patio! Only reason we went…. There was no one inside and the patio wasn’t full, our dog was in a stroller. They didn’t want our business.

Ordered takeout and my burger was a little undercooked. I called and they made another one for me right away - it was very good. I loved the pickles! Really appreciate their willingness to make things right so quickly. We will be back for sure.

So much waiting! I don’t know if we just came on a bad night but inside was not busy, yet we waited and waited for our server to greet us and for our food to arrive. The nachos were so unappetizing I had to show a manager. The beans looked like they had exploded and dried out in the microwave and the cheese looked like sliced singles melted and hardened after sitting too long. The manager offered something else, but by that point I wish I had just said no. The rest of my family’s food was very mediocre and not worth the price. In the end the manager was helpful, but I’m very sorry we wasted our whole evening in Suttons Bay at this establishment.

This used to be one of our favorite spots up north, but sadly, it feels like things have gone downhill.

We dined here recently and were told there would be over an hour wait for a patio table and 45 minutes for indoor seating. However, inside there was only one table seated, and several patio tables were visibly open. We opted to sit at the outdoor bar while we waited for our table where we witnessed a series of service mishaps—unfinished drinks left in shakers, incorrect food orders delivered to nearby tables, and groups of staff standing around without clear direction.

We ordered the morel pasta and the prime rib. The pasta was underseasoned, with clumped-together noodles, and the prime rib, requested medium rare, arrived nearly raw. Throughout the meal, we were approached by multiple servers who all seemed stressed and overwhelmed.

While it’s great to see young people working up here, the experience just didn’t match what we used to love about this place. It doesn’t feel like the same restaurant anymore.
