We had confirmed reservations for a 2 night stay on a Tuesday and Wednesday 9/9 and 9/10. After a drive of 6 hours, we found the Inn locked up and no one there- customers or staff! A sign was posted that said all the amenities that we were looking forward to - bistro, bar, etc. are closed Mon. Tue. And Wed.!! Unconscionable that we were not informed of these closures before our trip. We called a posted number and a man arrived, was pleasant and offered a refund if we didn’t want to stay. We finally found other arrangements and our outing was saved.

We had the best time at The Vineyard Inn on Suttons Bay— it truly is a hidden gem! The property is so beautiful and peaceful. It is right on the water with a great beach to hang out on and has a dock for boat access. Pam was so kind and welcoming, and it’s clear she and Steve put so much love into keeping the inn so well cared for. Our room was cozy and timeless, very clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, including a very nice sized tv. Dinner at their restaurant was amazing— the chef was so friendly and attentive, and the food and drinks were incredible. We especially loved the Albariño wine, cider option, the s’mores martini, pizza, gouda mac & cheese, and tres leches dessert. The whole experience felt relaxing and special, exceeded our expectations in every way. You can’t find places like this anymore. This is a MUST stay. We will be coming back for years to come!

The room was not clean, fruit flies everywhere.
She used a spray to try to kill them that made me sick.
Old sheets worn to the threads.
Billing for room was not correct.

I stayed here 4 fabulous days! I arrived a day early, no reservation, and Pam was nice enough to wait for me as I got there late. The room was great, and the location was spectacular, right on the bay! I stayed by myself and felt safe. My friends were staying at another hotel a few miles away, and as we had drinks and dinner, decided on booking a trip next year for girls weekend! By the way, the restaurant on the property is worth a try. Wonderful view of the bay and the bar has swings! We had the pizza, Caesars Salad, and artichoke dip, phenomenal!

I would strongly caution anyone against staying at The Vineyard Inn at Suttons Bay. My family booked a stay directly with the owner, Pam, for $4,450. When we arrived, we were shocked to find the property full of rat droppings, including in the living areas and kitchen. The home was clearly uninhabitable and unsanitary, and we could not stay. Pam acknowledged the issue and refunded $4,000, but refused to return the remaining $450, despite us never staying in the unit. What makes this situation even more disturbing is that, during our exchange, Pam made an explicitly antisemitic remark, stating: “I knew I shouldn’t have done business with you based off of your last name.” There is no excuse for this kind of hateful language or for treating guests with such disrespect—especially after failing to provide a safe place to stay. We are in the process of filing formal complaints with the Better Business Bureau, Michigan Attorney General, and the Michigan Department of Civil Rights. Until real accountability happens, I strongly recommend avoiding this business.

The rooms are filled with a tv, microwave, toaster, utensils, coffee pot, the beds and pillows were comfy and a great nights rest. The view is a 1000% Awesome. The hospitality and generosity was outstanding. everything was clean and well maintained! Highly recommend this place. If money was no object, I would never leave. I fell in love with this place and I definitely will be back!! they trusted us and we trusted them. it's hard to find genuine people these days and the owners definitely showed us that there are still kind people around!! I'd give this place 1 million stars. I miss it already!!

This place was perfect for a long weekend getaway with my girlfriend. Josh was a fantastic chef and had a lot of knowledge of wineries and cool spots in the area. I'm not joking when I say Josh looked at me and my girlfriend and immediately knew our go to drink as well. A man of experience. We usually stay in TC when we come up to this area, from now on we'll be staying here. The views from our room were to die for, it felt like we were in a dream. The pizza was delicious and the drinks were made perfectly. See you guys in the spring when you open up. Thanks for having us.

We had an opportunity of a lifetime! It was a cause and effect that led us to a place that we didn't even know we belonged. It happened at the least expected time in our lives. But, in reality it was the best time ever. "Pam" who to come find out, owner answered the Vineyards phone, with a voice that is what I needed and maybe even yearned to hear. So pleasant, so accommodating, so helpful, everything my husband and I were looking for. She, her husband and her amazing Chef greeted us upon arrival and made us feel oh special. They gave us the honeymoon we never had an opportunity for. Please take their suggestions as validations when ordering dinner. It was spectacular. I, as a business woman don't always like to make all the decisions so it was a pleasure to have someone put themselves in charge for once. Ignore all bad reviews for this place, they were just having a bad day and this simply made them feel better. I honestly live a beautiful life and this place made me feel like it can only be better with trips and stays as such. Great job Steve and Pam. You killed it in my eyes.

Don’t dismiss this place because you think it is just an Inn. The Bistro is fantastic. If you are wandering the Leelanau Peninsula visiting Suttons Bay for shopping or wineries, definitely stop here for lunch or dinner. The gourmet thin crust pizza, artichoke spread, hospitality, outdoor seating/bar and view are all spectacular. Definitely worth the extra 5 minutes north. So relaxing and memorable!!

The owner is beyond a arrogant piece of work. If you want to be around that, this is your place. Don't support people who treat you bad and talk down on you

Called and tried to book twice. Woman who answered the phone didn't seem able to give information or book for fall. Ended up at Leeland Lodge. Such a wonderful choice!

Food and drinks: Closed on Mondays - which we would have been ok with....

Beautiful stay, beautiful views, and spectacular food. There are little things here and there they are working out but believe me, you’ll be in a forgiving state of mind. The vibe will take you there. Have the Frenchie pizza…I daydreamed about it the next day. The owner is super sweet. We love it!
