Agave Mexican Grill

This place does not even deserve one star. Worst customer service I have ever received. Our waitress Hanna was the most rudest person I have ever met. Rolling her eyes, cursing in Spanish, etc. She took our ordered and then 20 minutes later she came and told us kitchen is closed and they will not be serving us dinner. We told them we are from out of town and everything else is closed. And the reply we got was that is our problem. Talk to the manager and we got the same reply. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

A group of us went for dinner at Agave on Garfield Ave in Traverse City, MI. We were treated like crap. They took our order and refused to make the order saying the kitchen was closed even before it was closed. Our server was Hannah and she was the worst server. She was swearing at us in Spanish. She shouldn’t be in this business. She also cheated us by selling a tower of margarita 3/4ths filled with ice only. This is the worst place and this was the worst experience!!

The food and waitress was excellent. Fast, quick service at 3pm. I had the chicken Chimichanga. The refried beans were a little thinner in consistency than I'm use to but taste was satisfying. One person within our party had a walker and the isles / seating was very accommodating.

You wish you were here! Loved the food and drinks - good menu with a lot of homemade salsa and chips. Highly addictive and commend ?

Stopped here on a weekend trip with my husband, margaritas were good, friendly staff. Salsa was good. I got the chicken chimichanga which was very good and my husband got a burrito. Would recommend and stop here again.

Came for the weekend to get away. In the moment we chose this place since we live for Mexican food. The service, walking in to leaving was wonderful. House margaritas were super fun ?!! Definitely on “Traverse City Restaurant” to stop at now!!

My husband and I went to eat at agave, it was busy we understand but they were 3-4 guys (workers) just walking around not doing anything talking to each other, we were sitting at the table no chips no water no napkins no nothing.. waitress were busy but why do they have all this guys there just going back and forth ignoring the customers I had to get up and ask for chips and salsa, for water and everything else Shame!

Fantastic little Mexican restaurant!! The bean dip was amazing, the guacamole was fantastic, the enchiladas I got with red and queso sauce and it was a great portion size and had fabulous flavor! Mary Bell did my Togo order and did a fantastic job! Even made sure to include silver Ware! The hostess, a slender young lady with long brown hair even held the door for me on my way out. I am not from Michigan unfortunately but any time I travel through this area for work I will definitely be stopping here!!

Got the chimichanga, which was fried, but yet still soft like a regular soft tortilla. Good salsa. Got the choriqueso, yum. Nice waitress. Good music! Mexican food is regular in my life and this place is good. Not great. I'd try elsewhere if we came back to TC.

I’ve been here around 4 times now. 2/4 times the food was great, maybe it depends on the cook they have that day? Great portion size, happy hour margaritas are excellent and you have to try their fried ice cream.

Great experience. Food was fantastic and hit the spot after a long days drive. Staff was friendly and attentive. Would highly recommend and would revisit.

My friend and I have met here for lunch weekly, rotating with another restaurant, over the past 2 years. Food is so-so, service, more often than not, is terrible, and it has steadily declined. Service is now in the basement. Is everyone experiencing difficulty with staffing now? Yes. That is still not an excuse for rudeness, sloppiness, ignoring customers. We are locals, and are looking elsewhere for future meets. If you’re visiting our area, I sincerely advise you to search elsewhere for a good meal.

I would have gave just a 4 star for the food (it was good, just not amazing), but I was really happy with my server. Both him and the other guy that I believe was bussing and hosting did their jobs very efficiently. Really just hard workers and very nice at the same time

First time at this place and will be the last. Very slow, no music playing. The food was just absolutely horrible. It was not seasoned at all. Not sure how you can mess up mexican food. We ordered margaritas. Again, how can you mess up a margarita. I couldn't even drink it. Would not recommend.
