This is hands down my favorite restaurant in TC. The food is fresh, creative, and delicious. I love the level of spice they offer and the flavor is so unique. I could eat here everyday and never be bored!

Some of the best Chinese food I’ve had, period. Really, who would have thought in Traverse City? So glad this group is here.
This is clearly food made by people who know and love good food.Everything we tried - stir fried cabbage, Szechuan chicken, cucumbers, cold noodles, Mapo tofu - was so fresh and full of flavor. We’re from Houston + Los Angeles and have been spoiled for awesome regional Chinese cuisine, and would put Crocodile Palace up against some of our favorite spots.Loaded with well-balanced spice / heat and prepared in a way that lets the ingredients shine through (not over cooked, not greasy).It’s takeout only, and that’s my only qualm! I’d love to hang out here because anyone making food this good would create an awesome vibe. Going back as soon as I can, and glad we ordered enough for leftovers.
My only regret is that we didn’t go sooner! I got the mapo tofu (pic attached) and my wife got the dan dan noodles. I am capital w White and can’t handle spice, but the tofu was manageable and so flavorful. The dan dan noodles came with the sauce in the side, so we were able to adjust the spice level ourselves.Good serving sizes, clean kitchen, and nice guys. Made it fast and fresh while we sat there, so we’re definitely stopping by again :)

I ordered carry-out from the Crocodile Palace for the first time several days ago, and loved the food so much I returned for more last night. Have tried five menu items so far. All were a bit spicy, but fabulous! I like everything about this gem of a carry-out gourmet Sichuan establishment and cannot wait to return!

This place was amazing! I got the cucumber salad, cumin lamb & rice cakes, and the red braised beef noodle soup. The lamb and rice cakes were definitely my favorite, but the five spice in the noodle soup was such a delicious flavor bomb and the cucumber salad was the perfect cool, crunchy counterpoint. All in all, a delicious meal!! Note: this place is takeout only.

FYI - This place is Take Out Only. Best Asian takeout in TC. Sichuan style which means the spice icons on the menu are no joke! We love it though! If you like spice we highly recommend the Dan Dan Noodles and Mapo Tofu. We're addicted to mouth numbing ways of Sichuan now :DThanks for bringing this cuisine to TC!

The food is great! However, it is all VERY spicy even if the menu item has no pepper symbol next to it. For example, the cumin lamb was suuuuper spicy but has no chili peppers next to it on the menu.

This place delivers when it comes to flavor. Great food and my bear paw tofu was delicious. My toddler couldn't stop eating the salted cod fried rice, and my husband loved his gong bao chicken. We'll definitely be back.

Great food, great people, just generally great to have something like this available in Traverse City. That's not all: They've altered the menu a few times already and introduced some new dishes. I like the mapo tofu, the stir-fried potato slivers, and the chicken wings. I've had bits and pieces of other dishes I like, too. I'd encourage new diners to explore the menu.
