Very pricey for 2 burgers. No drinks, no fries. Just 2 burgers were $30. They said they were 1/3 pound burgers but didn't seem like it.
I asked for cheese, onion, mustard, catsup. No onion, very little catsup (if any) and slathered the whole thing in mustard. I tried to eat it and couldn't choke it down. Took it up and told them I couldn't eat it. They asked me if I wanted something else but after all that mustard I didn't want anything. Never offered a refund or a gift cert for a free sandwich. My first and last time there.
While the guys were friendly enough when we came in I won't return.

The food is always awesome! Service is the same! Get the Oakwood Burger. You won’t be disappointed!
Super nice staff. The two burgers we tried were good, but honestly didn’t have as much flavor as I expected. You can sit at Tankspace brewery next door (as super nice staff).

Such a great spot for dinner and atmosphere!! The food was AMAZING but the staff and the atmosphere just elevated everything!!! My 14 year old had so much fun in the customers lounge taking in all the nostalgic decor! Highly recommend you try if you happen to be in the TC area!
The bill came to over $30 for two burgers, two bags of chips, and no drinks. Blah blah inflation. That's too much.

Such a neat place. The burgers were AMAZING. My husband got the El Padre and said the flavor was amazing. I got the Oakwood and it was delicious. Never thought to put ranch on a burger and it did not disappoint. Their fries were amazing, we got the garlic parmesan and they were big enough to share. The staff were extremely friendly.

We got a takeout last night (Oct 16th) near closing time, one proper burger and tejas fries. The patty was slightly burned and not juicy at all, it was dry, buns didn't seem fresh, fries were chewy, soggy and barely warm, it seemed that they were made earlier and just reheated for our order.
We read the positive reviews which is why we chose this place, but our food was way below what you would expect from a place with such a high review score. We're visiting Traverse City, this was the first place we got dinner at and the food didn't leave a good impression.
Edit: the co-owner reached out and provided a refund due to the experience we had so we improved the review score as their service is great. They also take feedback into consideration. We are leaving the review of our initial experience because honest reviews, whatever their score, provide helpful insight to travelers that rely on them.

This place has delicious food, though a bit pricey for me. I got the Proper burger with no cheese or sauce because I’m picky. I added the fries and drink because the burger only came with kettle chips and I don’t really like those. I didn’t try anything special just plain fries, but they only come as a basket of fries. I did finish my burger and pretty fast because it was good but it was also a late lunch and I was really hungry. If you are more adventurous I bet this place is a great gem. I think I’m too picky and cheap to fully enjoy this place but it was definitely delicious.
Of course I’m just visiting the area. It seems everything is a bit on the pricey side because it’s a tourist town. The more affordable places based on reviews were all permanently closed, so it’s likely necessary due to business being so seasonal. And I’m not a big burger person either. Ended up here when looking for craft and hobby stores, the one nearby I was looking for was gone without a trace.
They were extremely helpful in trying to remember the place for me and even looked it up. That’s how we confirmed it was permanently closed. They even tried to suggest other places to me. Completely unrelated to their business but worth mentioning because that’s just how friendly and truly dedicated they were to helping me.

Visiting from out of town dropped in for a burger and fries and was not disappointed! Came in an hour before closing, staff extremely nice, explained menu. Food was out in minutes and may have been the best burger of my life! Had the Proper ?

The BEST burgers in TC - HANDS DOWN! The combination of locally, organically grown beef and the freshly, locally baked buns with the homemade fries is perfection! A MUST TRY!

Looking for some burgers and found this place. Got the Oakwood burger and some Parmesan fries. Per my wife, the bacon "would make you weep". The burger was one of the best burgers we ever had.
