I play weekly trivia at Rare Bird which is fun, but highly enhanced by the wonderful menu and terrific service. The pub style food is delicious, and features creative weekly specials. I want to shout out our waiter, Tyler. We make sure we sit at his table because he is attentive, knows our drink orders, and even that I prefer a salad with my tacos rather than chips. The food and service are winners, even if we lose at trivia.

Came here with my wife’s family, who hail from Wisconsin. We all came to a consensus that these were the best cheese curds that ever were. Good beer variety. Not to mention, the service and ambiance leave you no choice but to unwind and leave wearing a satisfied grin.

Rare Bird doesn’t miss. Went in for a lunch, had a lot of fun, a lot of laughs, food was great, drinks were better, atmosphere was the best. We also had the honor of having Lily take care of us. She was great, attentive, engaging, gave great recommendations, and had a lot of fun with us. She even showed up big in a “bring my drink in an interesting container” challenge.
Had the best experience, Tyler H was a very knowledgeable and talented server. The roasted red pepper hummus is SO good! Will always recommend to anyone looking for a great spot with good eats!

Rare Bird in Traverse City is our new favorite TC restaurant! The nachos were the best the three of us have ever had, and my Harvest Turkey Sammie—with shaved turkey, beet and red onion jam, havarti, arugula, and garlic mayo on toasted ciabatta—was absolutely spectacular. The Kushy Punch IPA was the perfect combination of citrus & hoppy to compliment to an unforgettable meal! Highly recommend.

Tyler H. was phenomenal! We are gluten free. There was an amazing selection of gluten free food and gluten reduced craft beer. He explained everything well and was super attentive! The GF buns were fabulous!
The atmosphere was industrial with a story mingled through out about how the tables were crafted and where the wood came from. Story about the owners and why they brew the beer the way they do and have an amazing menu.
The only thing I would change would be throwing in a 1 bay dedicated GF fryer so we could enjoy the fries without concern. But overall this is a great local restaurant with amazing attention to detail! Thanks Rare Bird for a wonderful local food destination on our travels from Indiana!

Found Rare Bird from a Google search! We loved it! Good atmosphere and food! I want to go back for the Buddha bowl! There was weird parking. You have to back in and the spaces are all on an angle. Not sure if there is more parking elsewhere.
