Pork belly nachos were good but hardly any meat on them. Same with the Banh Mi sandwich. Lamb burger was bland and neither the burger nor fries had any salt in them and there wasn’t any salt/pepper on the tables. Beet salad had very few beets; mostly just lettuce. Has the potential to be very good but definitely needs tweaking. Beer was good!

We had a wonderful meal on our first evening in Traverse City. We sat at a high top table next to the fireplace…warm and cozy on a cold winter night!
We started off with their craft beers (Blood Orange, Sloths on Horseback and La Alemana….all were delicious) and some of their cheese curds (enough to feed all four of us). For our meals we had cheeseburgers (good bar burgers), chicken wings coated in homemade BBQ sauce, and the highlight was the buffalo chicken sandwich (it was huge and came with a substantial amount of fries)
Also worth noting were the Dirty Bird Fries which were very good.
Overall we highly recommend this establishment for an evening out while visiting Traverse City.

My wife and I visited Rare Bird during our anniversary in Traverse City, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience with Eric and Zendra taking care of us. From start to finish, their service was simply exceptional! They were incredibly friendly, making us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. They went above and beyond to be responsive, making sure we had everything we needed. It’s rare to find a place where you feel so genuinely cared for, and Eric and Zendra truly made our experience memorable. Their warmth and attention to detail added such a personal touch that made our visit memorable. If you're looking for a place with not only fantastic offerings but also an outstanding team, Rare Bird with Eric and Zendra is where you should be. Highly recommend!

Interesting place. Hostess, Dehlia, needs some "customer service" training. Burgers were good, but meat was dry. Food was ok. Probably known more for their craft beers. Cosmo was tasty but was thimble size for $12.

$15 for a plate of unwashed spring mix. Buddha bowl was a disappointment

This place is awesome. Had the pub burger and a couple drinks and they did not disappoint. Food was delicious. Tyler H, my server, was on point with everything. Very prompt and very respectful. First time eating here but will most likely be back tomorrow and possibly Thursday before I head home.

A regular stop any time we're in Traverse City. Love the pretzels and fried portabella sticks. Oh yeah, and the beer! 😊

Ordered Korean tacos, menu didn't state how many tacos so should have asked. Most places baseline is 3 tacos. Tacos good but left you hungry and chips with it lacked any true flavor. Drinks were great and good selection. Cobb salad for wife was great and 1/2 priced appetizers were very 1/2 priced sized to say the least but very good. Service was great and atmosphere was good. Menu was too vague on servings size so ask but good place to try at least once.

We stopped here on our last night in Traverse City on Sept. 29th. We had a few apps and my husband tried their flight of beers. The food was good. Our favorites were the pork belly nachos and wings. The beer here was my husband’s favorite of all the other stops we made. He bought a Crowler to bring home and is now contemplating a 6 hour drive for more! 😂

I was traveling for business, so I was by myself for dinner. I want here for dinner just to find out they do not let a single sit in a booth. The hostess said i can sit at the bar, but the bar was crowded and very loud. Oh, and there were no seats at the bar, and I really do not like eating while standing. i went back to the hostess and said what if I buy to main course then could I sit at the booth and she said NO>. Alos the kitchen was closing in one hour and I could see at least three booths were open.

A gem of a place for dinner & cold beverages. We sat in the self service bar area about an hour before closing. Tyler's gracious hospitality, positive attitude & infectious smile made us feel like valued guests.
