Smoke and Porter Public House

Henry catered my baby shower in November and he was so amazing to work with. Kind, accommodating, and went above and beyond by helping us out when we forgot to get dishes for leftovers. Our friends and family still mention how incredible the food was! Since then, Smoke and Porter has been on my list to visit for a meal and last night I finally got to go alongside my mom and brother. Everything was nothing short of amazing. This is a gem off the beaten path of Traverse City and you should absolutely check them out. I got the smoked Mac and cheese with shrimp, my mom the salmon, and my brother got the rib meal with an addition of brisket. Chef’s kiss! 🙌🏼 Even the smoked baked beans were incredible! Do yourself a favor and get to Smoke and Porter immediately for a meal. If you’re looking for a caterer, look for further.

Overall I enjoyed my experience, but there wasn't any wow. Food was good not great, the drinks were good but not come back for another. You should definitely give it a try, but it wasn't amazing

We were promptly seated. The waitress waited on us in a timely manner. The atmosphere was fine. The drinks were good but the food left something to be desired. The fries were cold and the ribs were charred to the bone and so dry, they were difficult to eat. Although the other dishes may be better, we will not go back or recommend it to anyone

We planned a family style catered dinner for a group of 24 after our wedding, and it was phenomenal! Everyone raved about the food, service and atmosphere. They were able to set us up on the outside patio, which was quaint, shaded and perfect for our group size. The staff was attentive and pleasant, and the food was delicious and incredibly affordable. I have zero complaints and hundreds of accolades. Great job guys! You have 24 new loyal customers.

Had my daughter and son in laws wedding rehearsal dinner at Smoke and Porter a few weeks ago. Can’t say enough about this place! Food was AMAZING! Great SMOKED FLAVOR. The set up was beautiful. Service was above our expectations. We had 30 guests and they all raved about the food - best bbq dinner out! Thank for providing such a great experience for us!

BEST SMOKED FOOD IVE EVER HAD! Although we went during a busy time our food came out fast and fresh. This was a spontaneous decision for dinner and I’m so glad we got to experience this amazing food! Would recommend to anyone that likes quality BBQ.

Food was way overpriced, a few customers in the restaurant and the food came to the table cold. Steak was 1/3 fat, with no flavor at all. We do not recommend. And we had a fly bothering us the whole time, walking out our shoes where sticking to the floor. The manager was the owner sister and told us she would adjust the bill and then changed her mind and hid in the kitchen. Horrible experience! Sad way of doing business!

We had our “night before” dinner here on Saturday, August 10th. The tables were already set up prior to our arrival. Each staff member greeted us and got to know us. It made us feel so special. Drinks came quickly upon our arrival. Would definitely recommend the Cherry Whiskey Sour! (I don’t even like whiskey). It was the best drink I’ve ever had. Onto the food…..so much food I don’t think any of us knew what to do with it! It was served family style. There were 25 of us. Charcuterie board, wings, salad, chicken, pulled pork, veggies, and mac and cheese. Everything was absolutely incredible. I’ve worked in restaurants for 12 years and this service was beyond anything I could have imagined. The price was even better. Thank you Smoke & Porter for hosting our night before dinner. My husband and I had a wonderful time and I know our guests loved it as well. We come to Traverse City every summer and we will definitely be back!
