Smoke and Porter Public House

While staying in Traverse City, we ventured upon this delicious restaurant. The food was amazing, from the appetizers to the entrees,to the sides, and the drinks; everything was delicious! I would highly recommend their Smoked Cherry Sour, the Smoked & Deep-Fried Wings, the Sword Fish & Black Lentils, and the Smoked Pork Rinds. And the staff? They were friendly and accommodating. We just might have to visit again before we journey home. There were additional items on the menu I was curious to try.

This comfortable little place is clean, has great employees, amazing food, and a chill atmosphere.

Average barbecue at best. Wings and ribs overcooked and dry, sauce was unremarkable. Vietnamese rice noodle salad was all cabbage and small portion size. Converted fast food restaurant to sitdown. Waitress was friendly and responsive.

Great restaurant. Bistro steak was excellent. Cooked perfectly with a hint of smoke. Potatoes were cooked perfectly.

Meat-centric didn't feel appropriate in the description. Small portions of meat, served very beautifully, but not very good. My ribs were extremely dry.

Henry catered my baby shower in November and he was so amazing to work with. Kind, accommodating, and went above and beyond by helping us out when we forgot to get dishes for leftovers. Our friends and family still mention how incredible the food was! Since then, Smoke and Porter has been on my list to visit for a meal and last night I finally got to go alongside my mom and brother. Everything was nothing short of amazing. This is a gem off the beaten path of Traverse City and you should absolutely check them out. I got the smoked Mac and cheese with shrimp, my mom the salmon, and my brother got the rib meal with an addition of brisket. Chef’s kiss! 🙌🏼 Even the smoked baked beans were incredible! Do yourself a favor and get to Smoke and Porter immediately for a meal. If you’re looking for a caterer, look for further.

We took our large family here tonight and they took amazing care of all 16 of us. I eat out a lot for work and can honestly this is the best service I can recall in a very, very long time. The food was also good! We were all very impressed with our overall experience. Thank you!

My burger was cooked perfectly. Even tho I ordered it to go it was as fresh as if I ordered in. I also ordered their bread and smoked butter. The chefs kiss to complete the meal. The staff was friendly and made the ordering process easy and stress free. Will definitely make eating here a habbit.

My husband and I love this place! Food is terrific! We need gluten free and they are knowledgeable about it. Service is always friendly and timely . Would recommend!

On New Year’s Eve, we called in an order to go before heading downtown for the CherryT Ball drop. Walking in, you can tell that you are in for a great BBQ meal. The atmosphere was filled with warmth and a gentle glow. I dealt with three different staff people, all of whom were pleasant and professional. Our meals were ready on time and amazing. My wife said her roasted Brussel sprouts were the best she had ever had. My pulled pork meal was delicious as well. This was our first visit and when in town, we will be back!
