We’re TC locals and have been to Sorellina many times — we’ve tried everything on the menu and the consistency is why we keep coming back. This visit: Bread for Two + San Marzano Bisque to start (the bisque is a must-order). My wife always gets the Vodka Rigatoni (no ricotta) and I always return to the Tips & Fungi — after years of visits, those two are still the best dishes here.

The look of the place sold me, but the food was not good enough for another chance.

This was our second time here and both times were equally perfect in every way. Food, service, and atmosphere were excellent and we can’t wait to come back. I wish I would have remembered our servers name because she was so great! She did tell us it was her fist night serving on her own and she had blond hair. I hope that’s enough to get her the kudos she very much deserves!!

Went here yesterday for happy hour. The bar service was great, bartenders were lovely. We ordered the calamari and Margherita pizza off the happy hour menu. Can’t speak to the calamari but my friend wasn’t a fan. The pizza was okay. Then I ordered the Caesar salad and tomato bisque. Neither of these were worth the price. The salad was so basic, I was surprised. Barely any dressing. The bisque was flavorless. It needed more seasoning, salt etc. Overall not pleased with the cost of the food for the quality.

Food and wine was delish, service was great!
Had their Vodka Rigatoni and it did not disappoint. Furthermore our server Arthur was phenomenal and went above and beyond during our dining experience.

Had a dinner date here with my daughter. They have this fabulous deal going on right now. 3-course meal and a drink, pop, tea, coffee, house wine, or a beer. It costs 45 dollars for two. Let me tell you, it was excellent. Megan, the server, was top-notch. All the staff work together. I don't think people's plates sat on the table long after they were done. Will be coming back again.

I was highly disappointed with my experience on September 29th while celebrating a birthday with my husband and sister. Upon entering the restaurant, which was empty, we requested to be seated in a booth. However, despite their obvious availability, the hostess informed us that all the booths were taken. This was particularly perplexing, as all booths remained empty throughout our dinner. In fact, only two other couples entered the restaurant, and neither of them was seated in a booth. It was not until we ate dessert that one couple got seated in a booth. Seven booths remained empty.
When I voiced my concerns to the hostess upon leaving, my feedback was dismissed, making me feel undervalued as a customer. As a resident of Traverse City and regular patron, I expected a much better dining experience but found a glaring lack of professionalism and respect. I will not return to this establishment.

I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with a recent experience at your restaurant that has left me quite frustrated. On September 29th, I visited Sorlina to celebrate a special birthday for a party of three, arriving promptly at 4:00 PM when the restaurant opened, with a reservation.
Upon arrival, I noticed that the restaurant was entirely empty except for my group. I requested to be seated in a booth, as they were all unoccupied, but was informed by the hostess that they were all booked. This was confusing, especially since, during our dinner, I observed only two other couples entering the restaurant—none of whom were seated in a booth, contrary to what I was told.
The situation escalated when, as we enjoyed our dessert, another couple was seated in one of the booths that I had previously requested. This blatant inconsistency in service is unacceptable and disappointing. As a resident of Traverse City and a frequent patron of Sorlina, my expectation was to receive a pleasant dining experience, and instead, I was met with a lack of transparency and hospitality.
When I addressed my concerns with the young hostess upon my departure, my dissatisfaction was brushed off with minimal acknowledgment. Her response—that she would inform her supervisor of my intent to file a complaint—was dismissive and did not reflect the level of professionalism I would expect from a restaurant of your caliber.
Given my previous positive experiences at Sorlina, I had hoped for a more accommodating atmosphere and respectful interaction. It is disheartening to say that I left the restaurant feeling undervalued not only as a customer but also as a local supporter of your establishment.
I trust that you will take this feedback seriously and look into the matter.

Restaurantji Recommends
Hosted an event here for a couple for their rehearsal and welcome party. I am a wedding planner; I will never recommend work with this restaurant again. Food was good if not pricey but the issues come in with communication, lack of organization and at this point, theft.
Manager was hard to get a hold of leading up to the event but the space is lovely and it felt like it would meet the couples needs for an intimate dinner followed by drinks for all in town. We had a minimum to meet for the evening and when it ended, we were told we were under and would need to pay the difference. It ended up being quite a difference and we asked for an itemized receipt as we saw lots of people eating and drinking and were concerned guests ended up on different servers tabs and didn’t get credited towards the minimum.
The manger I was working with wasn’t there (had another commitment but we hadn’t been told until arrival he wouldn’t be there) so the manager on duty wasn’t able to help us a ton. We were told let’s follow up with our contact Monday to ensure it was on the up and up and I as their planner was asked to place a check on hold for the balance until we could figure it out (the couple needed to go to bed as the next day was their wedding and we were also surprised with a 3% fee for credit card which we hadn’t been made aware of). We were told the check would not be cashed and we would have time to connect with the manager to work it out. Surprise surprise it was cashed Monday and the manager has been impossible to get a hold of.
In the 2 months since the event I have only been able to get him on the phone 1 time and was told I would receive a spreadsheet of the sales to cross reference and he event admitted he found a $100 discrepancy so we know there could be errors. I have never received the information I request, answers on how to wrap this up or info on how to even be reimbursed for discrepancies they admit to be found. I have called, texted, emailed countless times and as a fellow hospitality professional I am horrified. Manager told me on the phone he can’t text back due to a setting his child placed on his phone (what?!?), can’t access his email is getting a new computer (what?!?) and that the spreedsheets and my event info was in his car that ended up in the shop (what?!?).
The excuses he shared in the one phone call I got him on (finally called me at 9:30pm) are endless and the lack of accountability and communication are awful. I will never recommend another couple to this space. The food was good for the rehearsal dinner but the lack of communication leading up to the event (didn’t have a confirmed menu or pricing until 1 week before and that wasn’t due to my lack of trying to reach the GM) and after is insane. We want to be done with this. Posting this still without resolution on a $2000+.
