Sorellina – Exceptional Italian Dining in Downtown Traverse City Every great trip needs that one memorable meal—and for anyone visiting Traverse City, Sorellina is where I send my clients for a truly special dining experience. Located right in the heart of downtown, Sorellina blends upscale Italian cuisine with a relaxed, welcoming vibe. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and inviting—but it was the staff who really made the experience shine. They were not only knowledgeable about the menu and wine pairings, but genuinely fun to chat with. You can tell they love what they do, and it shows in both the service and the energy of the space. And the food? Absolutely outstanding. Every dish was beautifully prepared and bursting with flavor—from the fresh pastas to the perfectly balanced sauces. The attention to detail here is impeccable. Whether you’re a seasoned foodie or just craving great Italian, Sorellina delivers. It’s an ideal dinner spot after a day of wine tasting, cherry-picking, or shopping downtown. I always tell my travelers: make a reservation, go hungry, and let the staff guide you—because you won’t want to miss a bite. 🍝✨ Sorellina is a must-do dining destination in Traverse City. Elegant, flavorful, and unforgettable.

We had a lovely dinner here 7 months ago. But now they have a new chef and a new menu. Everything is different. The soup was too spicy to eat, the Caesar salad was too strong, the crab cakes had too much pepper, couldn’t eat them. The Veal Parmesan was hard, overcooked, and tasteless. They offered to remake it but we didn’t want to wait. The Server was very nice and later took half of the items off our bill thankfully. My wife won’t come back.

Food was great. Server Kaci was terrible
Love the atmosphere here !!! And they have great dishes …but they piled on the garlic …
We had the chicken piccata and chicken Marsala both overridden with garlic …and I love garlic
Bummer these dishes have such great flavors but couldn’t taste anything but garlic
And the Sorellina salad is my most fav salad with delicious fresh dressing but even that was overwhelmed by garlic ….please lay off the garlic
We did let our waitress know and asked her to inform the cooks and manager but as we left we saw someone else scraping the garlic off his chicken .
Really was looking forward to dinner here tonight we are very disappointed

The food is standard Italian fare, but the prices elevate it to a point it doesn't quite live up to. The atmosphere and thé service though were excellent.

What a disappointment. Blandest ceasar ever. Tasted really watery lettuce...maybe they forgot the dressing? Croutons were good. (They kindly took it off the bill since I had like 3 bites.) The balsamic reduction with the bread is way too sweet. The chicken picatta was ok. Pasta was cooked perfectly and chicken was good but the sauce was watery. My boyfriend's tomato bisque and cacio pepe were really good. The carrot cake was dense and the the frosting was so think and the plate was covered in super sweet caramel sauce. Good coffee...no espresso or cappuccino. Service was ok. What a bummer. Meh.

Tried this place out tonight! It was okay! Service was horrible! Drinks good! Food okay! It was a one and done for me! So many other choices in TC! We had to ask for everything! Waited twenty minutes to even get a drink! Never again! The waitress told us to go to milk and honey for dessert! That’s the kind of place this is! Go elsewhere! Never acknowledged our 26th anniversary either! All about the money!
A great wine selection. And our meals Lasagna and chicken marsala were great. Came out hot which we love. Our waiter Arthur was very informative and helpful. Glad we chose this restaurant.

I had a bad experience with this establishment. I mentioned that I am pregnant and need my steak to be well done. The food took forever and we kept asking to speed things up. After maybe 40 mins I get a bloody steak!! the waiter was nice however very unprofessional overall. The response I get back after cutting through the bloody steak is “the chef will make a new one for you”. Very unhappy with the experience and never coming back again.

Every time I have been here the food has been excellent. The chicken on the marsala dish is to die for. So tender and cooked correctly. The demi is also tasty. I don't even like mushrooms, but I love this dish. Go here for a great meal. The price point is not bad considering the quality of the ingredients and the ambiance. 5 stars all day! As someone who finished culinary school, it has always been a struggle finding good food in the area. The food presentation, the taste, the quality, all up to standard. I can count on this restaurant every time.
