Wonderful place to eat. Phenomenal service all around, and the best brisket I’ve had in northern Michigan.

I did a quick search for bbq restaurants during my travels and this place had a 4.4 start rating. I didn't bother to read the reviews and I wish I had. Sounds like this place used to be good food but not anymore. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich with potato salad and coleslaw. The pulled pork was tasteless, the coleslaw tasted like it was past its prime. So bad that I had to spit it back out. The potato salad was allright, it had more smoke flavor that the pork did. I had to drown the pork with bbq sauce, if you can call it that. The sauce also had very little flavor. So I paid 23.00 and most of it went in the trash. The service was friendly and quick.

Just learned about this place a little while ago from a co worker and had a great experience. But this week ive went there twice this week the first time I got a pulled pork Sammie which was fine but the Mac n cheese was off and didnt taste right and today oct 16 went there to get some more Mac n cheese with pulled chicken and ended up with a baked potato somehow.... idk what the register kid is smoking but it aint meat 🤣

I was very excited to try this restaurant as I’ve heard many great reviews. I got take out of a 2 meat platter with pulled pork and chopped brisket. While the meat was OK, it was a little dry and I was surprised that for a bbq restaurant it didn’t come with any bbq sauce. The smoked beans were a little sweet, but I liked them, and the Mac and cheese was good, but I was shocked at how small the sides were. Also, the Texas toast was not toast and was just a plain piece of thick white bread. I grew up in the south and understand that bbq in Michigan may not meet the same standard, but was a little disappointed after spending $27 with a tip on this meal. As my to go order wasn’t seen, it could have been put together too quickly, so I’d like to give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt and still encourage others to form their own opinion.

We decided to check it out based on the 4.5 rating. Maybe a bad day?
Brisket tased like your basic roast.
Chicken was dry.
Ribs dry, but did fall off the bone.
Mac and cheese? I saw no pasta noodle it looked like a blob of bread.
Coleslaw? I’m not sure what it was flavored with. Not good.
Potato salad was the star of the day.
Texas toast not toasted. Just a piece of bread with nothing on it.
Definitely a one and done.
Total cost. $45
Kind of ridiculous.

I love the idea of a made to order pizza place along with a fast casual BBQ joint. Unfortunately the idea has been very poorly executed. I had the pulled pork and pulled brisket. The brisket was chewy and flavorless. The pulled pork was super dry, and flavorless as well. The piece of bread tasted as bad as it looked. Half of the house BBQ sauces were empty. And all this for $31.45 with no drink and little atmosphere. I opted out of sides because they didn’t look good so I paid over $30 for about 9 oz of tasteless meat and water.

We were looking for bbq food when traveling from out of state. We gave this place a chance. The pizza was good but bbq food was very dry. Sauces were good. I was very disappointed and would not come back. It felt like a chipotle version of bbq food.

Restaurantji Recommends
This establishment should not be allowed to use the word barbecue in its title. The most dry and flavorless meat I’ve came across. The coleslaw taste spoiled. The tacos were very dry and I’ve had better brisket out of a microwave than this. Thankfully, they give you barbecue sauce in order to add some type of flavor. It’s unfortunate that most of my order ended up in the garbage.

This is bad barbecue. I know it’s cheap but the brisket isn’t good. The pork has no flavor and is also not good. Beans are terrible. Mac and cheese was ok but still no smoke flavor. If you are looking for good barbecue in the traverse city area I’m not sure what to recommend but I would not recommend this place. Worst barbecue I have ever bought.
Worst BBQ ever. Overcooked and dry. The ribs, brisket and pulled pork, all dry. Brisket was so dry as to be inedible.
Meat most likely not smoke cooked as each were basically tasteless without BBQ sauce.
