The Cook’s House is our favorite restaurant in Michigan. There is not a detail overlooked. We had the entire restaurant for our small wedding. Eric was amazing to work with. We had guests with extensive culinary experiences around the world that were in awe. What a treat to have such a gem in northern Michigan!

Went here for a special occasion to see what all the hype was about. Honestly I was expecting more. I don’t mind throwing $300 at a restaurant but it needs to be worth that $300. I feel like they have the environment and the service down pat. The food needs work. It looks beautiful and very artsy but the flavors and quality not so much. I was hoping I would love it, but instead left disappointed and hungry.

10/10 food and service. My partner has a dairy allergy but we were interested in the 5 course meal for me. All we had to do is merely mention a dairy sensitivity and each course came out specifically altered for her without issue, allowing her to have an equally incredible experience. Fantastic service and accommodation. Worth every penny. Our server dylan is a king

My husband and I came in for dinner last night and were blown away by the attention to detail and kindness we experienced. Not only was the food amazing, but the service was incredible. After only a couple of courses into the meal, my husband started to not feel well. (Which had nothing to do with the food.) The team of servers boxed up the remaining dinner items for us and even sent him home with two coca-colas to help settle his stomach. Chef Jen also came out to personally say hello before we left. ABOVE AND BEYOND service and incredible food. We’ll be back when we can enjoy a more complete dine-in experience! Thanks for taking care of us!

Adorable tiny restaurant with tons of staff to serve you. We were greeted with champagne as I had reserved for our anniversary. We had the tasting menu with the wine pairing. Every course was very good. The steak and the dessert were our favorites but the beet salad was a surprisingly high ranked course. The wine pairings were also nice, some of the pours were a little small but it was a tasting so that may be the reason. I would recommend and hope to return. Book far in advance as reservations are limited.

Been here a few times, decided to finally leave a review. A very unassuming spot just off front street. 10 tables, 20-24 guests tops. Full bar with signature cocktails. For food they offer an ever changing seasonal menu. The 5 and 7 course tasting menus if your adventurous and want to fully explore the menu. A la carte for a more focused dinner. A top notch destination dinner for Michigan.

We had the 7 course tasting menu. The food was amazing and the service was exceptional! The staff including the cooks went above and beyond to provide us with a fantastic dining experience; they even sent us home with left overs! We also tried the cook’s coffee atole ice cream which we thought was super creative and delicious! First time dining here and we will definitely be back and recommend you come try it out!
