The food was delicious here. We ordered the pot roast dinner and then lava cake for dessert. The restaurant was clean and the service was great. Lori was our waitress and she was very friendly and helpful. Definitely will eat here again.

You can never go wrong at The Cottage. We love dining here on our yearly trip to the TC area, and the food is always excellent. I will say that, this time, there were two random bits of ham in my hash browns - while I get that stuff happens, this grossed me out a bit since there was no meat in my order, and it was buried down in the hashbrowns, not even right on top. If I were a staunch vegetarian, this would have bothered me a lot more than it did. I would say the only thing that did bother me was that when I let the waitress know, she seemed unconcerned. I think an apology and maybe a free coffee would have been a good idea. But in the end, we do love this place and will happily return again next year for our yearly visit.

2nd time there, Lisa waitress said no they do not put shrimp in with chicken in the same fryer, we had a lengthy conversation about my shellfish allergy so after her reassuring me she then comes back and says well some cooks may do whatever and put items that don’t belong in the same oil… not good business al all, no manager to talk to and the hostess was yelling to staff Where do you want to seat them?, total unprofessional place, prices are crazy and bad business if you have allergies they do not take it seriously as other businesses do, we left no business from us! Ends up we went to downtown Traverse City and had excellent food at a different great place on Front St., walleye basket was awesome and no shrimp touched that oil, found a business that comply with allergens and cares.

We are here visiting and ate here for brunch twice on trip. We came back due to the great service and great food! We tried the cherry pancakes (to die for!) biscuits and gravy, hash, casserole and a few other things. Everything was wonderful but our service was better. Michelle was wonderful, went out of her way to make sure we had all we needed (and more!) and always with a smile! A real down to earth and welcoming place, very comfortable! Thanks for having us!

The food here is amazing! I had the biscuits and gravy and they tasted like home cooking! Maybe even better than home cooking which is a rare find in my books. Unfortunately the kitchen messed up my order but the waitress did a wonderful job fixing it. I am leaving here feeling full, fat and happy! Wonderful place would highly recommend!!
