Tasty comfort food. Handled our large group well.
Love this place! Prices were great. Service was fast and nice!
This place is ridiculously good. Big portions of great food. Clean. Great service. One of the best breakfasts I ever had. Old school cool. Even has a counter and stools. A must-go-to breakfast place whenever we are in TC.
Stepping back in time! This place has the feel of a 1970s amusement park (large lantern on the outside of the building) meets a 1970s breakfast dinner. Super fun and in fantastic condition.
The wait staff and kitchen were friendly and hard working.
Prices are fair and the food was pretty good with large portions. My wife and I shared an omelet and felt like it was plenty but we also a little lighter than some folks.
I would visit here again
Came in today with a party of 4 around 830am. We waited 30 minutes and received no service or interaction after seating, so we left. Food looked and smelled great, though!
The food tasted great and we had nice service. However, I was shocked with the portion size. I ordered a stuffed hash brown for $14. What came was less than half the size of other stuffed hashbrowns I’ve gotten at other restaurants. That’s my child’s half sausage link for size reference. It was about the size of my fist.
Great breakfast diner. Clean, no frills but comfortable. Service was awesome and the food was amazing. I would recommend the corned beef hash.
My family and I are new to the area so we have been trying new restaurants and we just happened upon this gem. I had the stuffed hash browns and let me tell you it was amazing. All of us absolutely loved every bite.
The service was epic, I can't remember our waitress name but she was extremely pregnant and still was killing it. we will continue to come back.
Pancakes were good, place is adorable, sausage shouldn’t be fed to anyone. Even my husband wouldn’t touch it, and he’s a garbage disposal. The waitress saw we took one bite and still charged us $8. Probably won’t go back.
I had an outstanding experience at Flap Jack Shack. The food was absolutely amazing—every dish was full of flavor and beautifully presented. But what really set this place apart was the incredible service. I accidentally left my wallet behind, and one of the employees, Nicole, went out of her way to contact me and make sure it was safely returned. That level of honesty and care is rare and truly appreciated. I can’t recommend this place enough—for both the fantastic food and the genuinely kind staff. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Delicious breakfast, so many choices, and every choice our booth made was tasty, filling, and hot. We were there early, so we had a quiet experience before tables filled up and crowds starting forming.
Hard to beat a white Russian with a hearty breakfast. That sounds funny, but that is what I ordered.
Retro hidden gem
Compared to other Flap Jacks in Michigan, this location isn’t great. I was surprised at how small the menu is - less choices in Traverse City. The food was not great.
My sausage gravy omelette was terrific, and I left plenty full. Sarah was our server... 9 months pregnant and still the best service I've had since pre-COVID
