Disappointing... The restaurants owned by this group are usually fantastic overall but my first visit to this place didn't measure up. Got the hot chicken burrito which was pretty good but the beans were cold and the rice was dry / crunchy (pretty gross). Service was awful too. Won't be returning

Only 1 waiter on staff, didn't stay to eat.

The food was just edible, nothing special. Definitely nothing latin when you drown tacos with mayo. The thai chilli papaya marg tasted like nothing. And the service was delayed for even minimal orders.

Where did the variety in their menu go? It used to be like Honcho out in clarkston but now the menu is minimal. And why pizza? Don't get me wrong the food they make is good but come on you can make a few more varieties of dishes.

First time here and completely underwhelmed. Food was not great, specifically the tacos. Nothing special, overcooked and dry. Queso dip was good but that’s about it. Lots of children climbing on the furniture, stepping on guests’ jackets, open mouth coughing near our table. Service was slow, not very attentive.

Good food. Wonderful wait staff. It was very dark where we sat and also quite loud, though.

I really enjoy the food and drink here, but it’s a shame the restaurant is clearly severely understaffed. Last night we were told it would be a 45 minute wait and it took almost 1.5 hours. Empty tables in sight all over the place that either haven’t been cleared or they just aren’t seating people at.

We were told we could sit at the front bar while we waited but we were urged not to order food there because they were swamped. We listened, but it was frustrating to see plenty of others at the bar ordering food and even eating a whole meal before we were seated. We would have just ordered from the bar, but the host staff kept reassuring us our table would be ready soon.

Having a reservation doesn’t always help, either. A couple of visits ago we had a table reserved but waited 20 minutes to even get water and menus after we were seated.

I really hope to see this improve. The wait staff are all friendly and seem like they’re doing their best, and I seriously love the burrito, the sweet pea guacamole, and every cocktail I’ve tried.

But I just can’t justify eating here when its such a massive pain to get seated and put orders it. We brought our friends from out of state on their one night in town and they loved the food and decor, but we wasted so much valuable time waiting around that I wish we went somewhere else.

We had pretty bad experiences at Gran Castor. Even though the restaurant had open seats and a table for four (we were four people), they first tried to give us the worst table location. After requesting a change a couple of times, the person let us switch tables. This was all before we sat down or got water. Secondly, the menus were on the table; the person had no courtesy to take the menus to the new table, instead asking us to carry them ourselves. Thirdly, we are vegetarian, and my food had beef in it, which killed my appetite. I showed it to the waitress; she apologized and offered to make a new one. That was good, but after seeing the beef, it was difficult to eat anymore. Basically, I came hungry and left hungry, and I was charged for my meal with beef.
Overall, it didn't feel good eating there.

I’m not sure how a place with more than 10 open tables and booths does not have seating for 2 people. I will not be returning.
