Thoroughly disappointed. The food isnt as good as it used to be. I got pav bhaji and samosa and they used to be really good before but now very underwhelming and the quantity is half of what it used to be. Save your time and go to neehees instead. Its a bit expensive but worth it compared to this place.

Had chat, good taste like desi streets. Made fresh and hot unlike the surrounding competition where taste is not the priority.

I came to this restaurant with my family to have some Gol guppay and rice. I asked about the portion sizes since I had a large party. The cashier is a kid less than 16 years old and lies about the portion sizes. He shows me a box that it will be served in and then serves it in a small oval plate with it half full. Then the gol guppay are served with extremely small puri, old potatoes, and stale water. When I ask to speak to someone older, the kid is giving me an attitude with every statement. Absolutely terrible customer service. This restaurant has a history of changing owners very quickly and does not care about their customers. I like the idea of supporting a local restaurant but their service is abysmal.

Very expensive place. They even charge you 2 dollars for an empty box. Sweets were old. Jalebi was horrible. Go to Patel Brothers and get sweets half the price.

We went 10 minutes before closing, and the owners still treated us well! They were friendly and kind, and the service was wonderful. The sweets are fresh and delicious. We’ll definitely be coming back again!

I am posting this on behalf of my mom. Yesterday, she ordered two types of biryani from Sumaiya Restaurant for dinner. She picked it up in person around 6pm, and paid cash with what she thought was a single $100 bill. She brought home the food, all was well. About 2.5 hours later, she gets a call and it's the restaurant. Turns out, my mom was the only person who paid cash that whole day and rather than paying with 1 $100 bill, she had accidentally given 2 $100 bills - they were stuck together! Because she was the only person to pay in cash that day, the staff remembered who it was. And rather than just keeping the cash - I mean, $100 is not small change, I'm sure there are plenty of folks who would!! - they called her back hours later to let her know and make sure she comes in to get it!!! Talk about integrity and honesty. Wow. We were all amazed. It's a weird world we live in these days, and when you see the goodness in people prevail, it really warms the heart. This experience is something we'll all remember for a long time and one we'll share to those who are looking for not just quality food, but quality people and service. I have never once written a Google review before, but I was so struck by their integrity, that I just had to let others know. Thank you, team Sumaiya, for being so amazing!!!

Never had such a bad experience in any place. Came in on a Sunday evening, the whole place reeks of oil. We had a kid and ordered idli, they gave us stale hard idlis which were practically inedible. The chats are either too spicy or have too much garlic chutney added, that is just not palatable

Worst experience...Today we have ordered chole poori and idli sambar, what we got was unexpected.Worst Idli I have ever seen in my life and chole masala is also not good.Zero stars for veg food.If you are looking for vegetarian food then this is not a good place to try.

The was okay! Not good, Not bad. The only dish I loved here is samosa chat. Also they have the worst medu vada I have ever had!

Ordered samosa chat, and it was AMAZING (MashAllah). The flavor was very authentic and the whole dish just melts in your mouth.

Great service; okay food. I feel bad for these folks. It’s challenging to run a restaurant these days. Here’s my free advice for them:• narrow the menu down to 12 items (make them undeniably amazing)• clean the bathrooms• clean the bottles• keep selling sweets

It's under new owners, food was cold and tasted old. Nasty Falooda. Very disappointed. Will not go back.

Changed hands in August of this year and the name changed to Sumaiya. It’s a restaurant and sweets. Order your food at the counter. Ordered the Butter chicken, chicken Manchurian, dosa, Chana masala, tikka pizza and 2 mango lassi. They no longer offer dosa like the old owner. :( The mango lassi is just so-so, doesn’t have an overwhelming mango flavor or it’s rather weak at least. Service is average, not so friendly or warm much. The sweets are a mystery for the rest of us. The chicken Manchurian is nice and spicy, no crispy, but decent flavor at least. The tikka pizza is super doughy. Pizza is oddly swimming with a ton of sauce from the tikka sauce. The tikka belongs in a bowl rather than a pizza with the amount of sauce on this thing. The dough is cooked through but too soft and billowy to feel like a pizza. My husband husband won’t eat any more than the slice of pizza. I ate a bit of the slice and it was not good. I warned my husband that ordering pizza here would likely not yield the Indian pizzas we have had at Jiti’s or Amar. I told the young woman that the pizza is not good. She said maybe they made it different from yesterday. She said they had a lot of orders for it. I said this one was not good at all. She said she would let the kitchen. No one ever came out to check on us at all. The butter chicken sauce tastes okay, nicely spicy. The Chana masala is so-so, nothing special. No one checks up on you at all or cares either. The same young woman said our not liking the pizza is just opinion, that their chicken tikka pizza is the most popular. I told her we have had our fair share of Indian pizza and have never had it look or taste like their version. She said she would not make us pay for the pizza since we didn’t like it, as if she was doing us a favor. We only ate a slice of it, it was that bad. The meal was rather underwhelming and rather disappointing to say the least. The customer service here is non-existent. I felt rather irritated by the personality and service here.

I ordered a veg thali to go. The portions were decent. Both curries - mix veg and paneer were delicious. The sweet was rava besan ladoo which tasted good. The pickle was good too. The onion pakora was under cooked. Roti was hard and chewy. The spiced yogurt tasted bad so couldn’t eat it.
