Pleasantly surprised at the quality and quantity of food offered at this local eatery. Served a BIG breakfast at a great price and Angelica provided excellent service. Atmosphere is clean and pleasant, parking and location are convenient. Extensive offerings on the menu. Only open for breakfast and lunch.

The atmosphere is nice and the waitress says that we're there we're absolutely awesome. But ultimately I'm going there for the food and I think you could microwave breakfast food better. No seasoning whatsoever. Everything tasted so bland that i couldnt even get a bit out of the peppers i ate. If you are over 85 or have no taste buds whatsoever it's probably a perfect place to go.

Waitress/ hostess were very unaccommodating for my small party of 3 while the restaurant was relatively empty. 2/3 had arrived and hostess states that she could not seat us until full party arrived, as she proceeded to sit other unfilled parties who were of different race in front of us. I tried to explain that 3rd person was on her way and suggest we can order if that’s ok but waitress was not accommodating. We left and got seated at first watch IMMEDIATELY with one person present.

To be clear… this may be a nice place for someone if you are not BLACK. The woman at the front refused to let us sit down even though there were a bunch of seats open. We were a party of 2 and our 3rd person wasn’t there yet. She said she let a few people do it before us and when she pointed to them…. there was ONE difference.While waiting for my friend I saw two groups prior get a kindness get extended to them and somehow it was not done for us.

Server was very nice. However, the food was just average. Mostly flavorless. They didn’t even salt their breakfast potatoes and their omelettes were bland. Had to add salt and pepper to everything. Also we ordered the basic French toast and received only 2 slices and were charged over $15 for it!!! That’s insane. Won’t be going back as there are other cute little diners with better flavor and prices!

It's a nice cozy place, but they play music WAY too loud. I like peace and quiet in the morning. The food was ok. The pancakes were light and fluffy, but could use more flavor to them, but the bacon was delicious. The bill for pancakes, bacon, hot tea and the tip.......$30. ??? Way too pricey.

This place has never disappointed. Very much a hidden gem of brunch spots in Metro Detroit. Shine is your typical diner style cafe with great morning energy and kindhearted servers, but their food is far from a basic diner.The food here is the perfect start to the day. Ive tried every skillet and my favorite is definitely the butchers. With all those proteins involved it's perfect balanced in salt content and they have never failed to deliver a perfect eggs over easy. The true highlight is their cookie dough french toast. I always get this whenever i go and it is hands down the best signature French toast ive had. If your a fan of cookie dough ice cream like me this is the one for you.Ps. Try the Mimosas
