Five stars for our favorite Northern MI restaurant. Another amazing evening at Walloon Lake Inn. Our outside seating on the patio, on the last incredibly warm day of the year, made it a night to remember. A light breeze, the sun setting over the lake, incredible food, service, and ambiance provided the perfect backdrop for an incredible dinner. Thank you again Walloon Lake Inn staff.

Such a beautiful evening ...... Pretty sunset and ambience! I hate to say this because I rarely give a negative review but we sat down and nobody came to our table for 15 minutes. We were so excited as a group of four (who drove 8 hours that day to see beautiful Michigan )and to enjoy a beautiful dining experience at the Inn ! However ... our waitress was nothing short of cold and appeared to want nothing to do with us... or any table for that matter. She informed us that she had two other tables and always seemed to be in a hurry and quite irritated! When we asked her about the food or cocktails it seemed like a chore to answer our questions ! We reassured her in the beginning, as she looked extremely stressed , that we have all waited tables and felt badly for the fact that she was running around. When she turned “the table” so to speak and became irritable every time she returned to the table (which was rare) ... we were done with her! Put it this way I've never left a 10% tip. I usually leave 25%.! What could've been a beautiful turned into a Karen who made it clear. She was an unhappy person.!

EXTREMELY! DISAPPOINTED! I made reservations weeks in advance for my 15 year anniversary. Used Open Table with a credit card to insure a table. If I wouldn't have shown up they would have charged me a $90.00 no show fee. When making reservations I requested 2 people for outside seating and specifically let them know it's my 15 year Anniversary. I even confirmed the reservation the day before. After driving 4 hours to eat there they didn't have my table available. They then told us for us to sit outside it would be over an hour wait. We sat inside with no view of the water and watched as tables outside sat empty the whole time. Honestly, it ruined the night for me. I was so disappointed and upset. Then comes the food. Presentation was amazing but taste was just ok. I really love a hood filet. For $65.00 it should at least taste better than Texas Roadhouse. I think server knew we were disappointed so she showed little effort and hardly stopped by. Management never once apologized which also shocked me. We've had better service from far less expensive places to eat. Honestly can't say I'd ever make any effort to go back and drop over $150.00 for a place that doesn't honor their commitments nor seem to care one way or another. I don't think I'll ever forget this one.

Great place! Our favorite "up north"! Diverse menu and all the food is very good. Very nice servers. Specially labeled menu for a birthday dinner was a surprise! Wonderful view of the lake. Drinks menu has fun cocktails and a very good wine selection.

I think the food quality for the price could've been better. Our party of four had the Seabass, seafood Russotto, and whitefish. The first two were good, but the white fish was pretty average. Really lacked in flavor. For the price we pay expected a lot better. Ryan our server was good.

We had an incredible dinner tonight. I ordered the Sea Bass and the tuna roll as an appetizer. My husband had the chicken Marsala
Our dinners were absolutely amazing.
This was my first visit and we will be back.
The service was outstanding.
Thanks for an exceptional experience .

I attended a wedding that was held at the Walloon Lake Inn. The staff was incredibly rude to us, made us feel unwelcome, and made it hard, if not impossible, to enjoy our night celebrating the couple. I felt so uncomfortable that I could not have fun. The building has low ceilings and low hanging chandeliers, the dance floor was placed underneath a chandelier and while we were careful not to touch it, sometimes it was inevitable. A particular member of the staff would come over and scold the person who accidentally bumped it. Worse, even if we didn't touch it she would still approach and tell us to watch the chandelier, which we already were. We could not escape the scolding from her, (even when we didn't touch it) so much so that we gave up dancing. She stood on the dance floor with us, with her hands on her hips watching. Perhaps next time take the chandelier down.

That was just one instance of the staff making us feel uncomfortable, there is plenty more. They made us feel like we weren't good enough to be there and it genuinely makes me sad. I hope they can find the kindness in their heart to treat guests with more respect.

Amazing evening celebrating my parents' 60th wedding anniversary! They had “Happy Anniversary” printed on the top of each menu which made it special from start to finish. A gentleman was playing the piano which added to the already beautiful ambiance and view.

we have been to this restaurant several times. the first two times everything was very nice. the last two times were disappointing. for this last visit, the hostess was quite rude. the restaurant was essentially empty but she would not sea us by the window but finally did after much discussion. notably, the restaurant was still quite empty by the time we left, and there were still open tables at the window. the server was very good. the food was just ok, ribs were fatty. duck was dry. vegetarian dish was bland. lobster was good.

Service was slow and the food was very average. It lacked flavor. The best part is the setting with beautiful lake views.

Everything was amazing!! The view, our cocktails and the food was fabulous. Our server Maggie was excellent. Definitely make this a must visit you will not regret it. We will be back.

Absolutely amazing, as it always is each time we visit there. We come every August when we're in Bay Harbor/Petoskey area and it's one of our favorite experiences each time we're here.

The food, the service, the view were all spectacular. Edward our server, while new to Walloon, was not new to providing excellent service and that he did. The short ribs were super tender and juicy and some of the best we have ever had. They brought us knives, but they were totally unnecessary. They were offering a special too that made the whole meal very reasonable for the quality. It was our first time there but it won't be the last.

Ryan and Julie were wonderful to interact with during our evening. Thanks!!! A classic northern Michigan fantastic experience.
