Stellar chef, wait staff and environment. Can't compliment enough and we will continue to return.
My favourite restaurant in the area. Never disappoints. Food is great, atmosphere is great and the service is great. One of the best creme brulees.

It's always a treat to eat at the Walloon Lake Inn. I love having a martini at the cute little bar before dinner. The atmosphere is cozy and classy. The food is always so delicious. The starters and salads are big enough to share. I like to take advantage of the 3 for $60 offer that starts after the first of the year and lasts quite a while (not sure when it stops).
A hidden gem. Amazing food, wonderful ambiance, and delightful service.

After a long day we had an excellent experience at Walloon Lake Inn. Thanks for making our evening so enjoyable!
Food and drinks were amazing. Don the piano player in the bar is a class act adding to the ambiance of this quaint spot. Fabulous experience all around.
Great food and service. I was a little surprised that “MY wage fee” was included on my bill. I understand that the restaurant supports its employees, however, regardless of the value/fee, this should be optional. The customer should be the one who decides whether they want to support this cause.
Best restaurant in northern Michigan! Love going there. Everything is always first class and perfect!!
This was our first time at Wallon Lake Inn, and it was a great experience. We were greeted and seated promptly with a wonderful view of Walloon Lake. Our waitress was pleasant and attentive and the food was outstanding. Would highly recommend Walloon Lake to those celebrating special occasions or just looking for a great overall dining experience.
We really enjoyed dining in a historic cottage at the edge of the Lake. The food was amazing. I had the duck and my husband had the short ribs. Both were outstanding. My only complaint is that I ordered a glass Michigan Riesling wine and upon tasting it I immediately advised our server I was not a big fan of the wine and asked if I could possibly change it out for a different glass of wine. Something that wasn't so sweet. The servicer said she doubted she could do anything for me but agreed to check at the bar. When she came back to our table she apologized but said there was nothing she could do other than offer to sell me a different wine from their menu. Mind you; this is fine dining restaurant with fine dining prices and we were there to enjoy drinks, appetizers and dinner. I thought the restaurant could have done more to accommodate us. The glass of wine I ordered was not expensive when compared to other wines on the menu. I'm not saying we won't go back to this restaurant but considering what we spent I think offering to exchange one glass of wine for another would have been the right decision.

Always have a good meal here -- and the service is impeccable. It's worth the drive from Harbor Springs. We always go here for our anniversary and my birthday as we consider it special.
EXTREMELY! DISAPPOINTED! I made reservations weeks in advance for my 15 year anniversary. Used Open Table with a credit card to insure a table. If I wouldn’t have shown up they would have charged me a $90.00 no show fee. When making reservations I requested 2 people for outside seating and specifically let them know it’s my 15 year Anniversary. I even confirmed the reservation the day before. After driving 4 hours to eat there they didn’t have my table available. They then told us for us to sit outside it would be over an hour wait. We sat inside with no view of the water and watched as tables outside sat empty the whole time. Honestly, it ruined the night for me. I was so disappointed and upset. Then comes the food. Presentation was amazing but taste was just ok. I really love a hood filet. For $65.00 it should at least taste better than Texas Roadhouse. I think server knew we were disappointed so she showed little effort and hardly stopped by. Management never once apologized which also shocked me. We’ve had better service from far less expensive places to eat. Honestly can’t say I’d ever make any effort to go back and drop over $150.00 for a place that doesn’t honor their commitments nor seem to care one way or another. I don’t think I’ll ever forget this one.
UPDATE: Walloon Lake responded to my review. HOWEVER, It was definitely NOT a “last minute reservation”. It was over a week in advance and confirmed the night before. Manager not even apologizing and sticking me in the corner was NOT the same nor a beautiful view. This was NOT a good experience no matter how it’s spun.

Awesome view, service and of course the food. Staff is the best with live piano to set the mood.
First of all, we love the Walloon Lake Inn. We've been making it an annual tradition to enjoy a meal there, but this year, the server was a bit cold. Hardly smiled, never asked to refill a tea pot, and hardly spoke to us. Secondly, there is an extra 'charge' for workers, called 'The MI Wage & Benefii Recovery Fee' for an additiional 3%. I've not seen this at any other restaurant, but seems like a scam to have customers pay more for their workers. As if the cost of meal wasn't enough?? We are hesitant to return.
Let's face it, you just don't get service like this anymore! It was old school that you could expect in a fine dining establishment. Really enjoyed the food, atmosphere, everything!
