Went here for a celebration. I was looking for some Soul, Southern or something close. My wife found Bistro Orleans. There was some initial confusion because the website lists a 13 Mile in Warren address. Other sources say 15 Mile in Sterling Heights. Here is the straight truth. They are no longer in the Warren location They have one location on 15 Mile near Dodge Park Rd. in Sterling Heights. The phone number on the website IS correct. The online menu is partially correct. The prices have gone up a little as reflected in the menu changes inside the restaurant. Also, they had a paper menu with some additional selections. Partway through our time there, a gentleman showed with some audio equipment. Turns out he was there to entertain. His electronic keyboard work is pretty good, but when he sat down at the older piano they have there, he really started to change the atmosphere. He was really enjoyable. I forgot to ask if that was a regular occurrence, weekends only or just a fluke. I would highly suggest finding out, and timing your visit to include that experience.The decor is an homage to older jazz and Bourbon St. memorabilia. The waiter was super friendly and just the right amount of attentive. I thought my food was excellent and the amount was overwhelming. The price was great for the amount of food. Three enormous pieces of catfish. Sides in a bowl that all tasted great (cole slaw great, mac and cheese super cheesy and buttery, very tasty hush puppies and corn bread just like my southern dad used to make including the yellow corn meal, crispy edges from a cast iron pan, and no sugar anywhere.) Now, unfortunately for the negatives. The place has a lot of fly activity. A lot of those flies are dead or dying right there on the window sill. That was a bit ugly and dirty feeling. Why were they sick and dying? My wife had two items. A shrimp dish which had a spice or spices that she didn't care for. I tried it and thought it was just okay not super, but that might just be us. However she also had a bowl of gumbo which neither she nor I would eat. Being a pretty capable home cooks we could both tell that it was scorched. The bottom of whatever pot it was cooking in clearly had black, burned items from the gumbo that permeated in to every part of the gumbo. Every vegetable, every protein and the entire broth. I have had this happen to me and it is an unmistakable odor/flavor. It's not creole or cajun...just bottom scorched to black. At that point the only option was to start over and ditch that pot, or serve it anyway. They chose to serve it, and that was a big mistake. It's not blackening or a regional thing, just a mistake. We didn't really dig the deserts either, but again that might just be us. We are going to give it one more try to see if it was a bad day. Oh and currently they are cash, Cash App or Venmo only.

It looks like they have a area set for musical entertainment that might come there to perform, but they weren't there during my 2 visits there.There menu has a nice selection of food and selections. The server Charles is a great and attentive waiter during my 2 times being there.I had the Fried Chicken Poboy with fries twice and on my pic and as you can see that they serve nice looking and nice portions of food depending on what you're ordering.NEGATIVE: There are several flies either sick or dying at the window which was disturbing to see.Although, they have a nice menu selection, but 3 - 5 items they seem to be out of during my 2 afternoon visits. From what my mom says they seem to nevee have it for many months when she asks about them. The prices is kind of high on some selections.I can't say for others, but for me.. I like food with some good flavor to it. Now my Chicken Poboy sandwiches looks good with a very good portion, but it tastes very bland like there's NO flavor, New Orleans flavor nor seasoning to it.It looks like nice soul food, but it's missing the soul food flavor better yet it's missing flavor and seasoning even the ketchup tastes bland like it came from a generic store.In July my visit with my mom she said her food was fair and nothing to rave about. My visit with my friend in September who had short ribs, red beans and rice that looked soupy, dry cornbread and fair tasting greens she said she's highly disappointed that this location fell off, she wasn't impressed and said their former old location was more flavorful and tastes way better than this location.I ordered Pepsi and it's served to me in a can. The only payments they accept is Cash, Venmo and Cash App. NO credit nor debit cards.Honestly, I don't know if they having cut backs or going out of business, butthis restaurant has great potential. If they can just make those changes above then customers will come, recommend others, generate more and repeating customers then it can be a fabulous and great restaurant.

Delicious food!! Very friendly service and the upper management (owner?) came into the dining room to check on everyone's meals and to thank us. We were able to try several dishes because they offered some items in small portions.

Seasonings, Seasonings, Seasonings!! the food had little flavor, but they give you plenty. My frog legs needed two more minutes in the fryer. They should have moisture, but not slimy! The place was empty when I was there, that should have told me something. Don't waste your money on this place.

It’s located at the plaza by 15 mile and dodge park. We love to try food from different regions and this is our first time to have soul or Cajun food. We are amazed by Bistro Orleans!!! The staff is very friendly so you feel like dining from a family restaurant but also get the New Orleans vibe. We ordered shrimp and mussel andouille creole and catfish. Dishes are tasty and kid loves the catfish chips especially.

Well with much anticipation, 1st off I gave the host a zero!!! After me and my wife waited 10 minutes for a menu & another 15 minutes after that to have our order taken!!! It was only 4 tables of people in this restaurant, so they were not busy!!! So the service really failed. After driving 45 minutes to this restaurant, I was determined to Stay and at least taste the food. I ordered the Stuffed Pork Chop with Dirty Rice which was a large portion & looked delicious. But to my surprise, it was tuff and not cooked all the way!!! The dirty rice and side of Jambalaya was good. Sorry but they get a 3 out of 5 and I will not be coming back!!! Also their Credit Card Machine was down and luckily I had cash!!

I went two days in a town 2 hours prior to closing. On both days the kitchen was closed. The food cooking smelled good but didn't get an opportunity to taste and I won't be back. I need service to be as good as the food.

I've tried a lot of dishes here, and they are amazing - everything is done right- flaky succulent catfish, great Mac n cheese, the seafood dishes (especially with hot sauce) have a balanced taste. They even have the ubiquitous New Orleans piano shrine - and music on Saturdays- I can see why Channel 4 voted them best!

I ordered the cat fish dinner w/ collard greens and mac & cheese. The food was good. I received to large pieces of fish (separate container) , and two side containers of greens and mac & cheese , with cornbread. The portions were excellent for the price. I would also like to say the service was great for a carryout and the ambiance was awesome. This place is a gem in the city. It's clean classy, low key and gives you a home type feeling.

My first post noted that my mom and I ate dinner on 7/14/2022 and the food was simply amazing! It was so good that I catered on 7/16/2022 for a small dinner party on that Saturday. My guest were thoroughly pleased and enjoyed the food. My Pastor took the leftovers as he said the food was delicious. Already thinking about planning my son’s birthday party! Thank you Andrea and your team!!!!!
I took my mom for an early dinner on 7/14/2022, the food was absolutely delicious. Portion sizes were amazing, 2 people can share 1 meal with leftovers! Thoroughly impressed!

What a hidden gem! We were on our way to another restaurant and decided to take a risk and try something new. So glad we did! The portions are huge! And very savory! Spices weren't over powering, but they tickled the palate. The server was friendly and knowledgeable.We will be back, again and again

Fantastic experience, with great food, great service, and wonderful music as well! Make sure to get the gumbo as a side dish minimally! And the gator bites were outstanding as well!

This is a 2.5 star review. The shrimp Po Boy rocks. Next time I will order the sauce on the side so that it is more manageable in the hand. Nice firm bun with good chew. The small cup of jambalaya was quite generous and excellent. Great flavors. At only $3 it is a must-order-again item. The pulled pork sandwich was ordered, but they were out of pulled pork and a regular pork sandwich was substituted without asking. It was very, very lightly sauced and barely tasted of BBQ (or cajun?) seasonings. The mac & cheese was of the thick-er variety and could have been a bit cheesier. It is of the thicker variety of Mac & cheese that I prefer. If you are expecting the creamy variety, this is not for you. Service was attentive, but somehow missed that the kitchen had substituted the pork sandwich without asking us first. Bad decision ... CC machine was down - cash only. Will I return? Yes.

Mac and cheese was trash. Corn bread was burnt, black and dry. Catfish was good when it was cooked all the way thru. Poboy sandwich was the best I ever had. Bread was soft, shrimp was crisp but not to much breading, sauce was good and the bread did not get soggy... I wont go back until they fixed all of these issues. even if that shrimp poboy was amazing...
