I returned to Kuhnhenn's, my favorite brewery when I lived in Detroit, after a 6-year absence. Their beers are now completely undrinkable. Everything is bitter and sour. All I can figure is that the yeast they use for their sour beers has contaminated everything they make. Very disappointing - they used to be great beer. To make sure that my taste buds hadn't changed, I went to the Farmington Brewery and got their blood orange beer, which was still delicious! In fact, I brought 2 growlers of it home.

Kuhnhenn Brewery is an absolute gem. From the moment you walk in, you’re hit with a warm, laid-back vibe that makes it easy to settle in and enjoy some seriously top-tier brews. Their beer selection is phenomenal—whether you’re into rich, complex meads, bold IPAs, or unique small-batch creations, there’s something here that’ll blow your mind. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what they do. Bonus points for the cozy atmosphere and the kind of local charm that makes you want to keep coming back. If you haven’t been yet, you’re missing out. Cheers!
