Great shrimp skewers, and perch and walleye (sauce was so- so), and pasta/chicken in marsala sauce. Nicely done, nicely served. Enjoyed the Creamsicle Cocktail. Very nice to sit by the water and watch the ducks. Perfect summer night!
Enjoyed our night out. Got sat next to a very loud group. Also, the perch was said to be fresh but was frozen. They ran out of a beer that one of my friends wanted. Good food otherwise and our waitress Kylee was very good.
Excellent restaurant with extensive menu. Our table had soups and Maurice salad. Food came out quickly. Service was great. All around great experience.
The hostess was cordial, we asked to sit outside and she said I don't know if there are tables, but let's look. Did not check first just walked us out. All the brunch chaffing dish covers were broken and would not open/close, missing handles, and were all janky. The food was mediocre at best. We eat at 5th street in Clarkston a lot and that brunch is so much better, more options, and the food is much fresher. The food here was old and had been sitting there a long time. The potatoes were cold, the pasta was mushy, there was no seasoning. Overall I thought there would be more consistency with the locations. Our server was a bit disorganized and complained about her other tables every time she came over to our table. Overall it was my birthday brunch and I wish I would have chosen a different place. The only thing good about this place was the view. Disappointed! :(
Very nice experience out on the covered patio. Nice breeze from the lake right before the storm hit. Lily was a wonderful waitress. Can't wait to return.
4th Tavern was recommended to us as we wanted somewhere on the water. The ambiance was fine, but the meal was mediocre at best & the service downright lousy! Our server brought my husband dessert while the rest of us were still eating! Unacceptable!!! I know good help is hard to find - but TRAIN your waitstaff to have some manners.
First time dining at 4th Tavern and we will definitely be back. The lake views were beautiful. I chose the chicken on special with mashed potatoes and broccoli. Everything was delicious. My husband and son chose the cod and they definitely enjoyed their dinner. The house cab was also delicious!
Perhaps the worst dining experience we've ever had. Soup was cold, drinks didn't come until after the soup, never got our appetizer,Prine Rib came out well done instead of medium rare. When we pointed this out to the server, she took them back to get ones that were prepared correctly. Waited another 20 minutes and the manager comes over and tells us that's all they had left. The owner was there and we asked to speak with him, he looked over and sent the manager and waitress back over. Definitely won't be going back, have been here several times and the service used to be good, last few visits have been progressively worse. If the owner can't bother to come speak to a customer after such a failure of even basic service, that tells me all I need to know about this place.
Excellent food, excellent service! 5th time eating here. All five times great service, great food.
we came here for the buffet. the first time we came. we experienced long waits for food to be brought out. and running out of drinks. the second time, the food was again long wait for it to come out and it was cold. they had a young boy slicing meat and i am sorry he was not trained. he cut huge chunks of meat, had his sleeves on the meat. it was disappointing. the service was not very good. the waitress only had to get our drinks and couldn't get that right. most of the wait staff has an attitude about things. the food is not worth the price and the service isn't worth the 20% that's automatically charged. we won't be back.

TL;DR - Give this place a try, great good, great value, and we will be returning! It appeared this was their first, busy Saturday night of the month based on the chaos at the host stand but the hostesses were doing all they could considering the foot traffic due to the nice weather and Mother's Day weekend. One hostess in particular really held things down while others would disappear. We were seated relatively on time for our reservation and it took quite some time to get a drink order in. The GM was assisting the waitstaff who were all spinning it seemed, but everyone was very kind and apologetic. We were in no rush and ok with waiting on drinks and placing our order. With things as chaotic as they were in the front-of-the-house, I can only imagine how things were in the kitchen but when our food did arrive it was very good (albeit a little cold). My filet was cooked perfectly, the sides of mash potatoes and asparagus were plentiful and excellent quality, and everyone enjoyed their meals (BBQ chicken salad and a hot-rock shrimp entree). The drink special, a blood orange bourbon sour, was very good as well. Based on the food quality and portions, the value is excellent and there were plenty of leftovers to take home. We will return, look forward to sitting on the patio for the beautiful lake view, and I'm certain the FOH staff will find their groove as the season progresses. Careful with parking on busy nights - the lot fills up and the overflow parking is across the street on a busy road.
Terrific service. Waitresses were nice and knowledgeable. Salad dishes were great. I had prime rib. Which was average at best. I asked for it medium rare but there was no pink at all. Tomato Basil soup was outstanding but had to be sent back to heat
Always liked going to 4th Ave but stopped going there because the hostess staff was horrendous...each and every time we went there, the hostess was very unfriendly and there were problems getting seated. However, this time we saw that they were using Open Table so we thought to give it another try because we always enjoyed the food and service. I'm happy to report that we had a wonderful evening at 4th Avenue and the friendly hostess staff greeted us and sat us immediately. Thank you to Open Table reservations.
Our reservation was at 7:30pm and every last wait staff walked passed our table numerous times for 10-15 mins. Cierra stopped and asked if anyone waited on us because we've been sitting there a long time. We told her no and I said I was just about to go ask for the manager. She apologized and taken our drink and appetizer order. She was so nice and she's the reason the service didn't get a 1-star rating!!!! However, the food was good. Cierra was awesome and she deserves a raise!!!
Haven't been here in years because of a couple bad experiences previously. So glad we decided to give it another try! Really love the hot rock cooking experience & will be back for that again soon! Tomato bisque soup is delicious & the bread is the best I can ever remember having anywhere (yes, even better than Highland House! Oh my goodness gracious!!)
