What a great place. Opened in 1936, most of the mounted fish behind the bar are from at least 1941. We stopped in for a beverage after being in the lakes for about 5 hrs. Located right next to the DNR oat launch it is extremely convenient. Also, fun fact, on of only 2 bars on that chain of lakes. The other being down in Wisconsin. We spoke with the owner for 15 min, super nice guy. He said they do a lot of business in the winter with the snowmobile crowd. So if...
This place is hard to describe. Its kind of simple and not much flare. However, I always have an amazing time here. The staff will chat with you like you're an old friend. Before you know it, you have been there for hours. Call ahead. Sometimes on days when everything is open they will be closed. But if you are doing the chain, I would highly recommend this establishment as one of your stops.
Nice country bar on the water. We had two young people bartending and they were very friendly and interesting to talk to. Service was great! We didn't eat but their menu looked great!
