This cafe is in direct competition with “Kozy Cafe” just down the street. They both seem to stay in business in this small community. Was at Kozy yesterday , there are pros and cons to each. Cash only at both. Mel’s say they are closed on Tuesday. It is a toss up which to go to. Kozy had some delicious homemade raspberry jam they both have the strawberry jam.
Mels Country Cafe, great service and absolutely fantastic food. Have to try a burger. Pretty awesome. Small town with a big heart of passion In her restaurant. Highly recommend Mels Country Cafe
First year going there. We use to go to irons cafe after hunting in the morning. We had heard they were shut down for good so we tried to find something else close this is the closest place. Now let me tell you I wish we had known sooner the food is amazing I always love the cooking up here anyway better then down in kalamazoo. This is a must try place for breakfast.
