Best burger in Michigan. And the West Bloomfield location has much better seating capacity than the original location in Royal Oak.

Food quality was poor. They used to have great burgers. It's not the same. Very good service but I could make a better burger myself. 15-20 dollars for a burger is a bit of an ask for the quality and taste.

One of the best hamburgers I ever had.

The staff is personable without being intrusive. We’ve been twice recently and both times the experience was outstanding. And the food was delicious. The clam chowder is worth the trip on its own.

Fish & chips is over priced, 2 small pieces of fish and fries with slaw or salad for $21. Fish wasn't seasoned either

The last time I was at Red Coat Tavern, was 3 years ago. It still looks the same. It's kind of a dark atmosphere, lots of tables crammed in together, but the food quality is excellent. I ordered the Tenderloin tips for an appetizer, which came with Cajun spices and a Cajun cream sauce. Not as spicy as I was anticipating, which is good. I didn't want to melt my taste buds before I got to the real reason I came. There are few places in my opinion that make a great Chicken Pot Pie. You can go to mom & pop/family style restaurant and get the classic chicken pot pie, that's cooked in the classic tin dish with what looks like premade ingredients. Or you can go to Red Coat Tavern and get this very unique chicken pot pie. It is served in an oblong shallow bowl with cubes of potatoes, carrots, onions, peas, celery and chunky pieces of chicken in a nice cream sauce. More chicken than I was expecting, which is really what you want. On top of that is a free floating large puff pastry. Maybe 1.5-2" thick. It's like that pull apart puffy pastry you get from a bakery. Not something I would expect to see served in a restaurant. I wanted to use my fingers to pull it apart, but instead was proper and used a knife and fork. Once pulled apart the pastry instantly started soaking up the creamy base of the dish. A perfect bite with all the vegetables, a chunky piece of chicken and a piece of the creamy soaked puff pastry. The 3 star is for how shocked I was at the price of food for lunch. Many restaurants do a lunch and dinner special pricing menu. Not this place, WAY overpriced. But I wanted my chicken pot pie. I probably won't go back unless I'm desperate for one of my favorite dishes. Although I could be persuaded if someone treats me to lunch.Parking: Plenty of Handicap parking and lots regular parking

The food is very good, especially the burgers, onion rings, blackened tenderloin tips, macaroni and cheese, and coleslaw! Service is attentive and they have an amazing beer selection. They usually have the lights dimmed a bit and have music playing in the background creating a nice ambiance. Highly recommend!

Great place for an upscale or casual classic burger joint! They have different types of protein for your burger to choose from They have been around along time, with their original location on Woodward in Royal Oak. The toppings for the burgers are second to none, the sides are fresh and made to order like fried mushrooms and onion rings. Fries are good and hot. I had the house salad with blue cheese and chicken and it was really good and gourmet, looks like it was prepared by a chef. My wife had a burger, she liked it so much she didn't even offer me a bite. The 6 of us shared a cookie sangwich sundae dessert. Atmosphere inside is clean and modern. Our service was great from our waiter , had no issues at all. Will definitely be back!

The food and waiter were good. The ladies' restroom was filthy. I recommend that someone go in every hour to refresh.

I was in town and looking to grab dinner. It was late and places were closing. We stumbled on Redcoat Tavern; it was perfect. Great burger! Fantastic onion rings! Very good old fashioned! Welcoming service and overall atmosphere. I'll drop in the next time I'm in the area.

In the past, the food and service were very good. I loved this place. But the last two times that I have ordered food there, it was not a good experience. The food was overcooked and soggy. When I arrived, they said my order was ready, but it had to be baggedI waited 15 minutes to receive my Caryout order. It was cold and the food was terrible. Based on my most recent experiences, I don't recommend this place.
