While visiting Detroit, this has always been my go to place for dinner. Sadly rochester branch closed so I had to visit this one driving 30miles from my hotel. A bit disppointed seeing the food quality degraded, chicken was not properly cooked, flavour was a bit more salty.
Years ago, I was a big fan of peri peri chicken at the Nando's chain in the Washington DC area on trips there. I was eager to try The Port of Peri Peri when a couple of them opened here. It is counter service which is fine. The chicken is the star here, nicely marinated and fire-grilled. Yummy. Medium spicy is a good starting point; it is fairly spicy already. The sides were fine, some better than others.

The chicken was super juicy and full of flavor — I went with medium spice and it had the perfect kick. The peri fries and corn were great sides, and everything tasted fresh. It’s not always easy to find flavorful, high-quality grilled chicken with halal options, so this place is a go-to for me.
