We stopped here for an early dinner around 4 pm on a Saturday. We are from out of town and we’re staying at the Grand Traverse Resort. There were four of us, plus our baby coming to meet our two cousins who were already here sitting at the bar. We showed up, and our cousin came to us and said she had spoken to a waitress already and that she said we could claim this one open table, and that it just needed to be cleaned. Not thinking much of it, we sat down. I’m unsure of the waitresses name who came over to clean the table, but truly, what a rude, miserable person. She scolded us the whole time about how we were not supposed to sit here, we tried to explain what we were told, but she didn’t want to hear it. It was an honest miscommunication, but we were made to feel like complete jerks. What made it even worse, was after she cleaned our table, she walked to the very next table over of (I’m assuming) regulars and were openly talking trash about us. Luckily this woman didn’t end up being our waitress and we had a decent experience from there on out. I just truly couldn’t believe how rude she was to trash talk and glare at us with fellow patrons after cleaning the table for us.

Nothing too impressive. Boring decor, average service and subpar food. For such a great location it definitely isn't a spot I would go back to.

Great local spot! We love sitting in the booths and looking at East Bay. The food is amazing, pizza is delicious, prime rib, ribs, gyros, yum! The bar is so cool, and they have a quiet side.

Nice place with sort of a VFW / American Legion hall vibe. Friendly staff and neighbors bumping i to each other. The food was tasty with generous portions. From what my wife and I saw on our trip to the area, this place was pretty affordable and seemed popular with the locals.

1st time ever giving a bad review! Pizza was excellent! Waitress Jodi had an attitude!!! In a big hurry right from the start even though it was 3 hours before closing. While ordering the Deluxe pizza I ask if I could swap out an item she said we can’t change the items, I understood, then ask can I take off the Green Peppers, she responded sure no problem. She put the bill down on the table half way through dinner, she came back twice in about 3 min. looking for payment. The third time very shortly after, my husband gives her his credit card.
I always tip, which I still gave her 19%. But after looking at the itemized bill , I noticed she over charged by $4. She ringed up a pizza with 4 items vrs. The Deluxe minus the peppers. When I brought it to her attention, nicely, she stated that’s our policy ordering a deluxe you can’t change it. I responded respectfully you didn’t tell me that. She responded , I don’t have time to argue with you
and pulls out her tip bag. She wants to know how much she owes me. I told her the difference is $4. She started to argue again and pulls $3 out. I told her I do not want your tip money. She throws it on the table and walks away. We are very disappointed, been to restaurant before and enjoyed it. Not sure if we will go back.
Best Rueben sandwich I have ever had!!

Passing through town and my first time in the joint. Barbie displayed the time-honored practice of hospitality with immeasurable warmth and charisma. She put her rep on the brand with superlative ease. Ya got a good one there, Bay View Inn. Much gratitude to y’all.

Lunch with a group of 6 and the food and customer service exceeded our expectations. Our waitress was super friendly, she picked up on our vibe and made our lunch so much fun. Our food came quickly and everything was very good. The view of the bay is great, the atmosphere was bar or diner-like. Would stop back in again next time in town.

The staff were friendly and fun to engage with, and the prices were extremely reasonable compared to other restaurants in the area (lots in the $50-$100 range). I was excited to see they had a lamb gyro on the menu but, unfortunately, I got exactly what I paid for. The gyro should’ve been listed on the menu as a side dish.
In their defense, I was surrounded by several customers that I’m confident were regulars so it’s quite likely I just chose the wrong menu item, but I got what I got and this was my honest experience at the Bayview.

The pizza isn't anything like what it used to be. Elmers glue cheese and thick and uncooked dough.
