When we ordered we were missing two tacos. When we went back to pick up our missing tacos they were very friendly and apologetic. They gave us free drinks and chips and salsa for our party of 6. They went above and beyond to make their mistake right. I loved this mom and pop shop and I would recommend to anyone wanting an authentic Mexican meal.

If you like real Mexican food and flavors this is a place for you! The food and service was great! As soon as we walked through the door we were greeted and handed menus. They are versatile with ordering options, letting you mix and match some things. We got the quesabarillia (not sure about the spelling) that was on special, chicken and beef tacos, and pork and pablano cheese tamales. It was all delicious!!! The masa in the tamales was a little thicker than we've had before but the flavor was good. I loved the dipping sauce from the special so much that I dipped the tacos and tamales in it too! *note for those that don't like or have the soap taste for cilantro, it was in all the salsas and pico de gallo that we tried.

Recently came by on vacation and wanted tacos and this place did us right! Me and my girl went the first time and got hefty amounts of food she got tamales and I got tacos. Truly the only complaint I have is that the carne asada is more crumbly than anticipated but regardless still very good!! Thousand percent recommend it. Also try Thier Horcata its delicious

Not the best food. Not the worst food. I had the steak burrito and it was okay, the salsa is good but not hot at all. Seemed a little over priced at $17 for a steak burrito. The portion was great but the quality and flavor was lacking.

Food was barely edible. Shredded chicken in the Alhambra platter was overcooked, dry and stringy. No spices or flavorings. Just shredded chicken drowned in an excessive amount of cheese. 2/3rds went straight into the trash can
“Steak” tacos were ground beef, also no flavor or spices. Just bland meat in corn tortillas. Of the 4 tacos, 2 went into the trash as well.
Flour tortillas were dry with hard edges. Only water is for purchase. Rice overcooked and dry.
“Plates” were styrofoam takeout containers and only utensil given was a plastic fork.
If a place has salsa in their name one would think they at least have or offer salsa. Not here.
Overpriced low quality food.

Great beachside Mexican restaurant. Super casual. Food was fantastic and service was friendly. Great stop after a day at the beach. If you are at the Grand Traverse Beach Club — I recommend walking up here versus eating the food by the pool. This is 10x better than :-)
Was excited to try their tamales. Between my husband and I tried chicken, pork and poblano cheese. Not worth it. Almost entirely all masa with maybe a tablespoon of filling per tamale. I’d recommend skipping them, not worth it. Also rice and beans were very small portions which I can deal with but had no flavor at all. Not even a little. Had to salt everything and I’m not a food salter. Salsas were good and the girl who waited on us was super friendly.
