Please note that any reviews for this business prior to March 2024 are for the previous owner and cakes. As of 2024 the owner is different and the cakes are not at all what they used to be. The staff is friendly but there is a communication disconnect. Upon visiting the place it is clear the ingredients are not the same, but when asked if they produce cakes similar to the previous owner they will say yes. The former "Pastry Palace" has had such a renowned presence in the community for decades that many are assuming it's the same. The change is not disclosed; it's very miss leading for the community who loved the cakes, torts and pastries once produced in that bulding. Hence the disappointment when picking up the cake. The cake we got, sadly, had no flavor, was dry and typical buttercream frosting (it was firm and fell off). No interest in purchasing here again. I feel terrible because I like to support new, growing businesses but this simply doesn't even come close to what the Pastry Palace used to be.

About a month ago, me and my mother walked in to place an order for a baby shower cake. We explained everything we wanted (colors, flavors, decorations) to the lady at the desk and she explained how pricing went. When me and my mom walked out of there, we were confident in having a beautiful cake! Well, today( the day before my sister’s baby shower) I go to pick it up….. it was the most hideous thing I had ever seen!!!! The colors were what we wanted, but everything was so wrong!!! We wanted stars/moon decorations for the cake.. and we ordered a 2 tier cake and when she handed it to me today it was just 1? The 2 tier that was quoted for us was $75. On the way home(literal 5 minute drive)4 pieces of the cake fell right off!!! I call her and explain how we were not satisfied and she goes to tell me that the lady who had been taking orders was quoting people wrong and people weren’t getting what they asked for and that they had fired her. She offered to fix the cake, but told me I had to match the price to an actual 2 tier cake..$110!!! (which I ordered in the first place and was quoted 75!!!) I said that is not happening I shouldn’t have to pay to have this cake fixed!! I don’t know… that place is horrible. I’m going to have to fix it up myself just to make it look presentable… and hope it will taste good.

We ordered a two tier cake for a baby shower and got a 1 tier cake. When we arrived we said we ordered a 2 tier not one and the lady said it was 2 tier. They obviously have no idea what they are doing. On top of that the cake looks cheaply made. Toppings were falling off stepping out the door. they had a month in advance to get this right . DO NOT GO HERE. You'll have better luck going to Walmart.

I purchased my wedding cake from here 3 years ago and it was delicious so when my mom was looking for a cake for my sister’s 21st birthday, I recommended pastry palace. I had no idea the owners changed because when my mom picked up the cake it was nothing like she ordered. She ordered a chocolate ganache cake with pink writing. She was given a pink cake instead. And my sister’s name was spelled incorrectly! My mom was also quoted $48 for the cake over the phone but somehow the cake was almost $70 when she picked it up. Save your money - don’t go here anymore.

This place exhibited very poor customer service. I arrived to pick up my cake for my son's graduation and there was a grammatical error on the cake. The cake looked generic. They quoted me a price over the phone then when I arrived to pick up the cake it was $10 more than what was quoted. Just all around a terrible experience. Ruined my son's graduation day. The new management is very unprofessional and I wouldn't recommend this bakery to anyone.
