“Don't judge a book by its cover. The outside of this business could use a makeover but it's still classic in the Oriental Chinese fashion decor. Parking is right in front of the building. Easy in and easy out.of he parking lot. I Placed my order online and found It really easy for ordering and payment processing. The website provided me with an ETA on when my food would be ready. I chose curbside and gave details of what my car would look like. I showed up and I was greeted within 5 minutes with a smile and hot food to go. I was also given a friendly reminder that soup was inside and to be careful when I was driving home not to spill. You will receive kind, considerate, excellent service. Great food! Great prices, highly recommend.“
“Very clean restaurant! The staff is so kind. I asked my order not be made spicy and it was done perfectly. The dish I ordered does have peanuts without listing, but it was delicious. Simple flavors, not noticeable oily. One of the healthiest dishes I've had at a restaurant in a long time. There appear to be several vegetarian options, but I forgot to request no fish sauce. Luckily, it was given on the side. The portions are small for the price. The restaurant was quite empty when we went. With a few close-by competitors at much better portion per price, I can't help but wonder if that is why. I enjoyed it and for me, I eat small portions, so I didn't have to take leftovers. The water is not good.Vegetarian options: Veg Lo Mein uses egg noodles, Bun Tofu is vegan if you ask for no fish sauce on the side, there is tofu or veg pho, but you may want to inquire about the broth, veg fried rice (ask about fish sauce and egg to be safe)“
“I'm so happy this place got the New York Times "23 of the Best American Dishes of 2023", because I absolutely agree, this place makes some of the best food in America (and by extension, Michigan!) Even if I compare this place's Japanese curry to Japanese curry that I've had in Little Tokyo in Los Angeles, Japan, or *gasp* curry made my mom (who is an excellent chef), this place's curry is, dare I say, one of the best. I drive an hour just to eat this place's curry. I'm so happy this place has been getting plentiful business since the article came out! The kimbap is great too. I've had pretty much every kimbap and you can't go wrong with any, although I'd say the smoked salmon is my favorite. Service is always fast and friendly. You order at the counter and then you get a number and the food is brought to you. If you haven't tried this place already, you gotta!!!“
“If you have any interest in fried chicken you NEED to check out Firefox, it'll blow your mind! My biggest issue is deciding which sauce to get because every flavor is amazing. This is especially true if you can take the heat of their Red Hot Pepper flavor. The sides and other entrees they serve are also tasty but you know what you gotta order when you come here!“
“The food is phenomenal and the milk tea Boba that I got was affordable and delicious. My only complaint is that the dumplings we ordered were very well done, borderline burnt. Would reccomend a visit! I would also suggest that if you have a food allergy you double check with the staff in regards to what's in each dish.“
“Rather expensive but the quality is there. In most cases an order that would contain two pieces of sushi (Nori) is reduced to one piece so the price in some cases is double. They offer unique rolls, but I stay away from most of them. My love of sushi does not include cream cheese or mayonnaise. There are less expensive options in town to be sure but Jaku offers consistent quality and freshness. A nice treat once in a while but too expensive for me to make it a regular. Again, there are better priced options.“
“My husband and I went to Sushi Kuni for the first time and everything was delicious! Servers were very attentive and kind. We got 3 speciality rolls and they were all so good! Monkey roll (middle) was my favorite out of those 3 but the michigan roll (right) and crab mania (left middle) were both very tasty. We also got the uni roll (2 in the corner) and spicy salmon roll (far left) and my husband and I both agreed the spicy salmon roll was so simple but SO good! Out of all the rolls, it was our favorite!! Would recommend and visit again!“
“We had a wonderful dinner, the food was great and our waitress was very sweet and attentive. She noticed I tried to make my daughter's chops sticks easier to use and brought me a piece of plastic that made the chopsticks kid friendly.Kid-friendliness: My daughter is well behaved and did very well it is a small restaurant so best to be respectful of others. But the staff was very sweet to my daughter.“
“Hands down, best fried chicken. We got the 8 piece thigh and leg. It’s very juicy and falls off the bone with their perfect amount of spice. The wontons and egg rolls were also outstanding. Food was served quickly, hot and fresh. There is a variety of boba teas available as “
“Food was good no complaint there. Good amount of non-red meat options. Chicken bulgogi was my favorite. I'd say good price for how much you can eat. Service was good but slower on checking on you but once you order, it got to the table fast.“
“We are visiting for a few weeks and have eaten here twice already. The owners are super friendly and their staff are as well. The first time I can I got the TTEOKBOKKI (spicy rice cakes) and the next time I got the sushi crunch burrito.. both were very good and not the spot. Their hot green tea is also very good here. My daughter always gets the same thing (basically a veggie roll with cream cheese) and she said it's really fresh and her favorite anywhere we've been before. They also play music from popular K-dramas which truly makes dining here a delightful experience for us as we try to guess which shows we've heard the songs on. Our visit to Michigan has been impacted so positively by eating here, no doubt we will continue to visit while we are in town.“
“Delicious lunch and good timing on the service. We saw the other great reviews on yelp, and decided to skip panera (next door) and try Jaku.we ordered the crunch, munch burrito and the burrito with bacon, tuna and mango in it. The gyoza especially delicious… Crispy the outside, and a delicious filling with the sweet eel sauce on the side. we also shared edamame and had a spicy California roll and the almond joy roll.We did not have to wait very long for the food even though every table in the restaurant was filled. It’s a small place that had very niceWe brought our 80 yr parents to the restaurant and they enjoyed the edamame, gyoza & sushi very much. The ginger had a bit of a kick, which they declined to try, but we loved.we ended up bringing 2 halves of the burritos home for dinner leftovers. Loved it!Parking: just a few spots in front and lots of businesses all around the area“
“I came here on a Friday, and was surprised that it wasn't busy. The service was great detailed. The food was so delicious and it was fun to try the barbecue style. We will definitely be back. It started to fill up as we left. They have table to accommodate bigger groups and small tables. They also have bar seating.“
“The store is very nice, but today I just ate at the café. Easy parking in a safe area. The café is perfect. It's just 6 tables, and it seems mostly a take out business. But the 6 tables are also usually full. The food is authentic and delicious and ready in about 5 minutes after ordering. Bulgogi is the best I have ever had and it comes with four side dishes and Korean rice. If you want Korean food, this is really the only place in Greater Grand Rapids that feels like you are eating in a Korean café. If you are looking for corn dogs and fried chicken and K-pop, you have to go somewhere else. Just a note: Their spicy dishes are no joke--pretty spicy.“
