The bread is good, but they use whole wheat and thus its full of unreacted phytic acid and not a healthy product to eat. I would prefer to see regular white bread or sourdough over whole wheat. The baguette had 6/10 texture and 5/10 flavor (this is impressive for a company outside of france), but the choice in flours being so unhealthy forces me to not shop.

One simple change and its 5* all around for these guys.

Also zingermans only charges $3 for a baguette, $5 is kind of high

Bird Dog Baking is a gem. I used to frequent The Mill in San Francisco, my favorite spot for fresh-baked bread, so discovering that the owners of Bird Dog worked there was a great sign. Since moving to Ann Arbor, I’ve been looking for that same level of quality and care in bread-making, and Bird Dog delivers. Their baguette is the best I’ve had since I moved to Michigan. It’s crusty, flavorful, and clearly made with skill and passion. This place is a must for bread lovers. The ingredients are top-notch, and the craft shines through in every bite.

Sunday brunch! So tasty with great flavors, friendly service, and warm vibes throughout. Ride your bike for the perfect destination ride (just need to have more local bike racks).

I went here with my dog for a couple of weekends, and everyone was super nice. One of the girls at the register even asked if she could pet my dog. And then today, I'm told that they don't allow dogs. And I told them that they literally have 'dog' in their name. The manager wouldn't even have a conversation with me. How come someone who works there doesn't know this policy? You can't let me shop from your store and then not let me in next time. Disrespectful.

Don't call yourself dog friendly and put dog treats etc. on your doorstep if you can't let someone with a dog order to go which will take 5 min or less. Ridiculous.

Their bialy tastes like nothing also. Don't go here.

Great coffee! They don’t burn the oat milk! Wish they had their bread and butter all of the time.

What a wonderful bakery! Beautiful and clean inside, with the most delicious pastries. Taking home a loaf of cherry maple bread...can't wait to come again!

The kabocha squash hand-pie was perfect. The amount of filling was ideal and evenly dispersed through. I don't know what to say about the pastry other than it was perfect and flaky in the way I always want handpies to be flaky.
Truly everything I've had from them is incredible.

We love Bird Dog and come here pretty often. I love the sweet potato latte! So unique. All the treats are great. We usually have great service but today we had someone wait on us who was pretty cold and not friendly which makes me not as excited about coming back.

I picked up a Sesame Bread at Argus Farmstand in Ann Arbor, DELICIOUS!!! Great crust, well baked with a rich, filling flavor on it’s own, even better toasted with hummus or some vegan butter! Next time I’m in Town, I’ll check out the bakery and hopefully baguettes.
